I took a swimming class back in college about 20 years ago. The “final” was to survival float for 30 minutes. Earlier in the course, I learned my buoyancy point was about a foot below the surface so I just raised up (pushed up like a breast stroke) and breathed as I needed to then sank back below the surface. I could’ve treaded water, but I took the easier way out. I was super-lean back then. I’m a lot heavier now and have added some fat with age, but I’ve added significant muscle too, and still I “float” about a foot below the surface.
im a very good swimmer, know how to float and if i relax i sink. I have to tread water. On the other hand i saw this fat ass man who had no problem floating.
I’m like Goldberg… I have to try to float… I just don’t float, but know how. I also can sink and can sit on the bottom.
I thought it had to do w/ relaxation and breathing technique… dunno…
