This one’s for you, Jehova.
Eh. Matt Groening is quitting the show soon, in order to concentrate on Futurama.
It was great while it lasted, and even the enw episodes hits on a gem of a joke that gets me rolling. They stopped being great when they started the whole random-actor cameo and random-trip-to-some-country bit EVERY FUCKING EPISODE.
The new episodes are bad bu the movie was not that bad, I think a lot of people hated on it more since they thought it would be like the old simpsons in its prime.

Well, it’s not so much that. I think when you take a TV show and bring it to the big screen (especially something that’s been on as long as The Simpsons) you really need to bring something special to the table or really push the envelope. I thought The Simpsons movie was just a stretched out episode. I can only think of one thing that was something they couldn’t have broadcast on a normal show. Compare that to the South Park movie against the episodes at the time.
It’s just one of the many reasons I’m not a fan of bringing TV shows to the big screen.

HA!
I’ve been a fan of the Simpsons since I was a kid, and I still am.

Fuck you Simpson haters. If not for the Simpsons, there would be no family guy. At least South Park and Simpsons tend to have a set story that leads into something else. A majority of Family Guy is this:
Lois: Peter, you’re bleeding from your ears.
Peter: Holy cow, you’re right. Reminds me of the time I played strip poker with Mr.T and Green Goblin
Green Goblin, Mr.T, and Peter are playing poker. Peter only wearing underwear while the rest are fully clothed.
You know the rest. Family Guy is funny, but let’s see it run for 10 plus seasons.
I’d rather see it run for as many seasons as it is funny…kind of like The Simpsons should have done.
First ten seasons were great.
Family guy was funny for the first three seasons but the random flashbacks are tiresome.
South Park is amazing, and I’m hoping Futurama will be just as good as it used to be.
I still watch the simpsons whenever a new one is on- but I agree that it is not as good as it was years ago.
When is new futurama coming on? Love that show!

Me too! I don’t really car if the new episodes don’t compare to the old, I’m still going to watch them. I hope that even after they stop making new ones they’ll keep it in syndication. The Simpson’s is just part of my daily routine. It’s been one of the few constant things in my life, that sometime “after school” The Simpson’s will be on.
PS When you’ve sustained as many head injuries as I have, consistency is, something… I love you.

ithe show went from something that was relate able with story lines that could seem plausible in real life too something that is way overblown with unbelievable story lines
The simpsons ALWAYS had overblown story lines. Remember when Homer was an Astronaut? Hilarious episode. Or when he was a Grammy award winning member of a Barber Shop Quartet?? Another Hilarious episode. Who remembers the Bear tax episode? Or when Homer was the Head of the Department of Sanitation?
All of these are unbelievable story lines, that are freakin funny. Think about all the unbelievable shit South Parks kids have gotten into, not to mention Family Guy.
The Simpsons have fallen off as far as content is concerned, but I still laugh when watching the new episodes. Just not as hard as I used to.
The new episodes suck and the movie sucked! It’s depressing to see what they’ve turned the Simpsons into.
They need to fire the current writers fast and get some new ideas/perspective in there.
I don’t laugh at the new show…at most I might smirk from time to time, but the old episodes made me laugh for real.

Ive probably watched Approximately
5000 episodes(reruns) lol (low estimate)
I can tell you what happens in almost any episode after 15 seconds (usually the intro)
I can tell you in the last couple seasons it seems like it has just dive bombed in terms of quality ![]()
I still watch it when I remember to but I dont watch reruns much because Ive seen em all

Point at teh ghey!
