How, HOW can any fan of the Simpsons watch Family guy? Do you enjoy seeing Homer in another, unfunny form? They ripped off the concept of Homer. A talking baby? wow, to quote Mr. Burns, HI-LARRIOUS. A talking dog, well there’s no stopping them now. In sum, an episode of Family Guy is gayer than hearing about Powda hit his chin with his own semen. [/quote]

Family Guy is funnier and takes a lot more risks than The Simpsons (a great show, mind you) ever took. The Simpsons came out first, so it’s inevitable that any animated show (especially one about a family) is going to be compared to it. So if they are similar, so what? That by virtue of similarity it just can’t be funny? And how can you not love Stewie? Sure, there have been talking babies before, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done again and done better.
Anyway, loved the season premiere and also very much enjoyed American Dad. I think that one might need a little time to build up some steam, but that first episode was promising.

Futurama was great, much better than the Simpsons. We don’t get The Family Guy over here, but from the episodes that I have seen, it is the second funniest cartoon around. Happy Tree Friends gets my vote for the funniest cartoon around.[/quote]
Happy Tree Friends is some sick, twisted, violent and really damn funny stuff. You are one sick bastard, Massif… I dig it.
Family guy is funny as hell, but lets face it, they take an easier approach to humor. Un-PC humor is easier then the Homer Simpson-type humor. That being said, I agree that the simpsons pretty much shot its load a few seasons ago.
Again, the Simpsons [first 7-9 years] is the greatest show ever. The family guy is only funny because it is blatantly absurd and is an obvious Simpsons knockoff [although Stewie is one of the greats]without a great deal of originality.I’d take the first 3 or 4 [I think that’s all they put out] of Futurama over the last few of the Simpsons anyday. If you really watch an episode of the Simpsons[early seasons] you’ll find a few “hidden” jokes that you had to pay attention to see.
Watched two episodes of family guy so far, and I’m with Il cazzo with this one (even tho in english-italian, it sound kinda gay[yes and, not that there’s anything wrong with that ;)]). I can’t believe we’re even watching the same show. The father is just screaming bad-homer-clone. And taking risks? Whaat? Like what? Making a show about a crazy and dumb family, with a pinch of Matt Groening humor? It’s faar away from the unpredictabillity of Simpson. But ok, since I see so many fans of it, I’ll try get my hands on a new undubbed episode, and assume I’ve only seen 2 bad episodes.
family guy has zero bad episodes. i repeat, ZERO. yet, it comes in at a close second to…
south park is the single most creative show ive seen. when it is pure parody it is pure awesomeness. it’s a show very much unlike all other shows, has very few jokes but gets all the laughs through parody, and has valuable life lessons. my prediction is that south park will be known as the greatest eventually because it has the talent, but most importantly, matt and trey have what it takes to change it at any given moment (they regularly do this). most (excuse me, ALL) shows suffer when they change, south park just gets better.

With each episode only being about a minute long, it fits my attention span perfectly! It’s a bit like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre done with CareBears. I love it.
