Simple Diet Protocol for Travel with No Counting?

What is the simpliest diet protocol for people on the road alot and hate counting calories?

The hand system is the easiest IMO. Each meal is:

Protein - 2 palm sized portions (meat, fish, eggs, etc)
Veggies/Fruit - 2 fists worth
Carbs - 1 cupped hand
Fats - 2 thumbs (butter, oils, nuts)

If you can’t tell what your meal is made of then find an alternative (or count it as a cheat).
