Just trying to determine how offended I should be by the old comments. But looks like I’m around halfway between the two of you.

I can’t speak to this, but he is definitely more sassy. :joy:

Friday 19 Dec week 8

Push press (from rack)
40’x 3
60 x 3
70 x 1
80 x 1
85 x 0
85 x 0
Absolutely nothing there.
60 x 10. - fked

Ok I just had nothing here, just no press strength in my arms. It was time to switch to some exercises that didn’t need and technique. Where I could man (or women) up, grit my teeth and just get the damn job done.

Leg press
160 x 3
180 x 3
200 x 3
230 x 10 - PR weight and reps
230 x 10 - matched PR
240 x 10 - weight and rep PR
Now that is more like it. Legs were vibrating between sets.

Lever squat - facing machine
230 x 10 x 3 sets - weight and rep PR’s each set
This was the icing on the cake. Every part of my body was straining to get these reps. Even my hands and forearms were sore from gripping the handles so hard.

Bad start to this session but managed to turn it around with some good old stubborn hard work.

Nice PR’s my dude!! I used to do 1-legged leg presses, just so I wouldn’t have to load so many plates on the machine lol

I haven’t touched a leg press seriously in about 12 years. It’s a good power builder with carry over to squat dead and probably push press. I’m not sure why I went off it,I think the curve in my back if anything

Tuesday 23 Dec - Deload

Off program tonight. Just throwing some weights around and hitting the upper body. Legs still wrecked from the PRs on Friday.

Db bench - flat
30 x 5
35 x 5
40 x 5
45 x 5
50 x 5
52.5 x 5 (116 lbs)
Very happy with that.

Inc DB bench
32.5 x 10
32.5 x 10
32.5 x 9.5
Massive pump

Hammer row machine
40 per side
15, 15, 15
High reps good pump . Lats were really burning.

Behind neck press
Empty bar - 30 reps

And that is me done

This is the end of my 8 week training block. Overall I am really happy with how it went.

The ROM deadlift courtesy of @T3hPwnisher was a new challenge for me and I ended up with a nice 4 rep PR.

The overhead work with tips from @Koestrizer and @Cyrrex ended In some reps at 90 including a double which I am pretty sure is a PR

And I hit some PR’s on some new movements too.

One more Deload session this week and then I am off to Fiji to relax and will have a solid 2 weeks away from the gym to let my body heal some minor injuries.

This is what 8 weeks of hard work ended up looking like.

You actually look slimmer? Anyway, good job showing everyone that making gains even at your extremely advanced age is still possible.
