Can’t even imagine 10 weeks apart form one of my little ones, hope you enjoy it when she’s back.
Lots of work in here!! Looking strong!!
I Damn Well hope youre enjoying your time off, Simpson!
Haha! 8 Weeks to go for us!
I am having a great time mate. At Movie World today getting my adrenaline hit on the rides. Haven’t really given training a second thought, which is great but it’s going to hurt when I come back.
Got a good cheap compliment at Sea World yesterday. Was walking past one of those stalls where you throw a ball and knock down some cans to win a prize. Guy calls out ‘have a go mate, with Nukes like that you are certain to win’ I know he was trying hard to get me to play but my son thought it was great and kept talking about my nukes all day. Cheap compliment but I’ll still take it.
Chalk it up!
Nice. What body part does a nuke refer to?
Wait, haven’t you seen @simo74’s guns lately?
Oh I’ve seen them. Never heard guns called nukes though. Sounds like a cool label though, I gotta start using it.
I’m going to use it for sure. BIG guns.
OK so quick holiday update. Went with the family to the Gold Coast in Queensland. Popular holiday area in Australia with beautiful surf beaches, big hotels and a bunch of theme parks. I guess it’s kinda like our version of LA / VEGAS. We spent the week visiting some theme parks and relaxing on the beach, and of course eating lots of good food. Had a great break and honestly didn’t really think about training for the entire time I was there (which is a first for a long time for me).
It wasn’t all great for my Wife who ended up getting some sort of infection or cyst which swelled up really quickly on her chest and was painful. She went to see a doctor and he sent her to hospital. They immediately admitted her and gave her antibiotics intravenously. Doctor said they may have to operate but after some scans decided that the swelling from the infection was too bad for them to do anything. She stayed in hospital overnight and will have antibiotics for the next 2 weeks before another scan. They doctor will then decide if she still needs any surgery. It was pretty worrying having her go into hospital and the kids were very scarred and didn’t really understand what was going on. Was good to pick her up the next day and all breathe a sigh of relief.
Back at work now with lots of stuff to catch up on. I will get back into the gym later this week for a easy session and plan a primer week next week before starting a new block the week after. Plan is still to focus on overhead for the end of this year whilst keeping the squat and deadlift ticking over, also going to up the conditioning intensity and get some fitness back. Body feels well rested and looking forward to some hard sessions.
Glad to hear the holiday itself was decent, sorry to hear about your wife, wishing her a speedy recovery!
Thanks mate. She is bloody tough so no doubt she will be ok but it was a bit weird that is flared up so quickly. I think she was more worried about why than anything else, which of course the doctor couldn’t tell her.
Good to hear, makes the world of difference in this sort of situation - had my grans funeral last week, she was 95, and the list of stuff she survived is amazing, cancer multiple times, heart attack, stroke, amongst other things, she never batted an eye lid, tough old northern Irish woman, stoical. Can’t imagine what our kids generation will be like when they face real hardship!
Ah that sucks, hopefully it’s a one and done type of thing!
Hope everything turns out ok mate. Not a nice time for you or the family.
Hope Mrs. Simo feels better soon!
Give your wife a big hug from me and tell her I’m sending her lots of prayers!
Hope the missus recovers quickly man
Hope everything goes well with the wife.
And for the record, pretty sure nukes is testicles. Dude was admiring your balls, mate.
I did have those 1980’s football shorts on so you could be right.
@QuadQueen @Cyrrex @dagill2 @ChickenLittle @rugby_lifting @alex_uk thanks for the well wishes guys, I am sure that positive energy will help her get back to normal quickly.
