Beach day with the family today. Lots of running around with the kids in the sand and jumping in the waves. Add in lots of kneeling down and digging big holes to bury the kids in and you get a recipe for a tight lower back and hips. I think it is easier to just do squats !!

Checked this morning and pretty sure at the moment we can travel back with no restrictions from here. Although that could change in the next 7 days. Fingers crossed.
Few more cases of COVID up in QLD and it looks like some restrictions will be in place from tomorrow. This could effect travel back home and could mean some isolation time when we do get back to Melbourne. Going to get to the gym tomorrow and will go again later in the week. Will just move something heavyish this week and hopefully I can train as normal when I’m back home.

No belt or sleeves so kept the weight a little lighter and worked on brace and technique. Good sets. Guts were a bit off today, was sure I was going to shart but manage to get through ok.

Good little holiday session.
In a 3 day lock down here in the Gold Coast so no gyms open. Went for a walk by the beach earlier and they have those exercise stations along the promenade. The station near to our apartment was one of those monkey bar stations for pull ups and stuff. As I walk past it I hear bloody @ChongLordUno in my head in his best Scottish accent. “Hey Simo will ya loook at thaat, that would be perfect for a wee little session later on. Don’t be such a big soft cock and get ya chunky ass down here, I fkn dare ya”
So that was it I had to do it. Went back in the evening and did a little circuit.

10 burpees
15 push ups
20 squats
Managed to do 8 rounds before my back was so pumped and I was too dizzy to do more.

We are out of lockdown now but unfortunately it’s going to be a rainy day. Decided to take the kids to Movie World theme park and ride some roller coasters in the rain. Kids love the big rides, Mum and dad not so much ![]()
So me and the family get to fly home tomorrow. We will all need to have a COVID test and self quarantine at home until we get a negative result back. Will get the test done on the way home from the airport and hopefully only spend 1 day in isolation at home. Then it will be back to work and back to training properly again. Can’t wait.
Back home and COVID test done. Now just need to wait for the results. Hopefully get the all clear tomorrow.
