Body feeling pretty good today with most of the soreness from yesterday gone. Looking forward to a good squat session tonight.

Squat

115 x 5 x 5 sets (253 lbs) RPE- 7, 8 (last 3 reps suddenly got hard !!), 7 (moved better but a little dizzy after), 7 good set (a little neck crank on 2 reps), 8 another solid set .

Very happy with these but upper quads were burning by the end.

Bench

87.5 x 7 x 5 sets (193 lbs) RPE 8, 9, 10, 9, 9
Solid pauses on the first 3 sets, but these caught up with me quickly. Just repped the last 2 sets.

Bulgarians
22.5kg (each hand) x 8 x 4 sets
Have I told you before how much I fkn hate these !! Nearly puking !!

32.5 x 8 x 4 sets
Db Row
32.5 x 8 x 3 sets

That was a hard session tonight, legs were sore after squats and were throbbing by the end of the Bulgarians. The only thing that kept my mind off my sore legs was me trying to not throw up!! Quality.

Woke at 84.3kg (185 lbs). My eating hasn’t been great since I stopped the transformation challenge. I am still getting my protien consistently every day and eating a lot of good whole foods, but I am also snacking a lot in the evening. Think I might need to reign that in a little and start moving a little more during the day.
Legs are sore today, especially the top of my rectus femoris. Sitting is not nice.

I feel the same way man. It’s sad, but having that challenge kept me more honest and motivated than myself. I should probably seek some type of professional help for that :joy:

Not at all. I always planned to get lean(er) at the start of the year and then to focus on strength for the remainder. I know this means I will add a fair bit of weight but I’m ok with that and will probably do the same next year. Transform whilst doing hypertrophy work at the start of the year and then let myself go.

Haha I have on occasion seriously considered calling in sick to work because I’m not sure DOMS are going to let me climb up the scaffold

Woke at 84.3kg today, body feels pretty good which is a suprise given how it felt on Tuesday. Will train tonight while my daughter is at karate, hmmm what will it be, oh I remember it will be Bench and Squats like every workout I do at the moment, lol. Heavy bench (relative) session and light squats tonight, looking forward to it.

Thursday 15th August week 2

Bench

95 x 4 x 4 sets RPE 8, 7, 7, 7
First set felt a little slow but think it was just me not being tight enough. The rest were fine.

Squat
Bar x 10
65 x 5
85 x 5
100 x 8 x 3 sets 7,7,7
Moved pretty well tonight. Moved a rep a little too quick on the second set and the bar bounced on my back causing my left knee to jar a little. Reset and finished the set with slower reps and was fine. No pain in the knee after.

Row
80 x 7 x 4 sets

Pull ups
7 x 3 sets
Hanging knee raise
15 x 3 sets

Good little session. Nothing else to see here.
