It’s also a little more dynamic, the kids never stay still so the weight distribution changes throughout the set to make it tougher !!

I think this is a marketable idea. We can call it functional, whatever that means. Probably throw words like core and dynamic in there, the ebook writes itself.

DOMS is very real today. Thinking of sticking my head in the gym and checking it out tonight. Daughter has 90 mins of karate so ideal opportunity for me to drop her off and then go and look.

Went down to check out the gym tonight whilst my daughter was at karate and pulled the pin on the grenade. Signed up and will start in a bit over a week. Next week is the last week of this training block so decided to keep that in the shed and starting the gym the week after.
It’s not a huge gym but has a decent amount of equipment, plenty of bars and weights, a platform, an area for sled work and conditioning and it’s open 24/7.
Now I need to work out a three day plan and reap the results !!! Quality

A little bit jealous of this. My gym is open 24/7, and it has the basics, but an area for sledwork etc. Would be awesome.

Sounds like a win mate. I wish there was a decent iron dungeon near here. There’s 2 gyms within a 5 min drive from here, but they’re pussy type ones, small DB’s, 1 bench, 1 leg press and a heap of treadmills and other stupid looking things.

This place is pretty good, my brother in law trains there too, not that i plan to train with him. It has a heap of upper and lower body machines, lots of dumbells more than heavy enough for me, and a good free weight area. It was a little busy tonight but even then there was room for me. The other nights I train are going to be 7pm or later and I expect it will be emptier by then.
With it being open 24/7 it also opens up a potential to train before work and give the wife some evening attention (that sounded a bit perv)
It’s a pretty low key place and the guys who run it seemed pretty chil so I think this will be good.

Hey Simo, are you not training in your home gym anymore?

I am for another week. Next week is the last week of my current block which I will do in the home gym. Then I’ll start at the new gym and do the deload first week and on to the next block after. I still might do some sessions in the home gym but decided it was time to train near other humans. I’m hoping their energy and strength will help my gainzzzzz !

Ah ok, so are you doing it primarily to lift with other people?

That is part of it I guess. Although the garage gym has most of what I need, I am a little restricted as to when I can train. As the kids get older and do more after school and as the wife wants to do stuff in the evening too I think a time will come (soon) when I need the flexibility to train at different times and days. This gym offers me that flexibility. It also has other benefits over the garage, like more equipment, more weight, etc.
I will still train on my own with my own program but having other people around will change things up a bit.

Yea I absolutely agree. I like training with other people because it makes it more fun, and I agree that the flexibility of training at different times in the day is extremely helpful

I just can’t imagine why you can’t drop in at your neighbor’s gym at 5am.

Yer how fkn rude of him to run a business from home and have clients when I might want to train, or to even use his garage at the weekend when I might want to train. :wink:

woke up with some decent doms in my left glutes today. That’s another way of saying i have a sore ar$e !!
Got to deadlift and squat tonight so it will be interesting to see how it copes !!
