She really is. Right before I go to sleep and right when I wake up she likes to curl up beside my chest and cuddle. Then she will roll onto her back so I can rub her belly. Then when she is done she’s all like “why are you touching me? Stop now.”
I think about it, but probably will never follow through. I wanted a kitten even more for Buttons, who would have been such a good big sister (because she was goodness personified). Louie and a kitten…I can see things going VERY poorly. Even assuming he fell in love, which I think he would, his lack of spacial awareness would cause havoc. Kitten runs, Louie chases, house…destroyed. He definitely has a strong prey drive, so either there’s risk of injury to the cat or zoomies that knock furniture down along with everything else.
I also look at the dogs listed by the two rescues we’ve used, and think about bringing one home, but I’ve never had more than one dog (historically there’s been a dog and a cat) and am not sure I want to increase mess and effort.
More just stuff I like to imagine, I think. Husband would be opposed to an addition, though of course he was opposed to both Buttons and Louie (“, not ready, not my deal”). Louie rode on the snowmobile yesterday on husband’s land and is husband’s best friend, as happened with Buttons. When Louie got ice or road salt in his paws over the holidays while walking with son and his dog, husband carried him back to our yard. But I don’t want to push it. And I also don’t want Louie to feel pushed aside.
My little Sophie. She’s a cuddle bug, but its very location dependent. Like if she’s not on her little cuddle spot, she becomes parkour kitty who can circumnavigate the house without touching the floor.
I love when they tilt their head back so you can scratch their chin.
Animal head-tilts are the best! Louie, when facing away but sitting ON us, will tilt his head back to check on our faces and maybe give a little kiss. It gives me so much joy.
This is how she lets me know she wants that when we’re in the kitchen.
She does that, then looks at me, then strikes the pose, looks- until I break.
Perfect!
Would she like to come over and be Louie’s friend?
She’d probably really like that. She’s the one I’ve mentioned before that wanted to cuddle the vacuum cleaner. Very odd little creature. Lovable, but odd.
Her little tongue! ![]()

Hmm. Louie is a lot more animated than a vacuum cleaner. Still, he’s also a lot cuddlier! Once he settles down. So it would probably go well.
I titled this series “DEH???” after the similar works of Dali.
This is a re-creation of “Convex And Concave” from Escher. A very poor one.
Cuz thats how she seems to view the world around her.
@EmilyQ for reasons unknown, she loves to jump into the refrigerator and refuses to come out.
Yes, yes, I think she and Louie could be very good friends. ![]()
That is an awesome cat. ![]()

She just kinda happened like that.

Derpy at his first Pink Floyd concert…
Actually- first taste of some homegrown cat nip. He was zonked. Stayed like that for quite a while too!
