Found this little one at a murder scene around 8 years ago.
This is Hudley rescued six years ago this month.
This is Adolf Aloysius (aka mama’s lil fat boy)
And his brother Diogenes
My diluted tortie was found on the side of the road as a kitten too little to defend herself. She’s a complete princess, but it was the best thing we could have done. She ate wire one time, cost us a hilarious amount money, she throws up semi regularly, absolutely hates anyone that isnt me, and her favorite past time is smacking me in the face at 2am when shes hungry. But I’m looking forward to a long many years with her.
Cats definitely pick their people. They get so much unwarranted hate.
aww… my cat was a starving kitty who started circling my brother’s bike. We had to take him in
I know, theres some alpha stigma where cats arent as good as dogs. I get weird looks all the time for being “the cat guy” and I think it’s ridiculous. My cat gives more unconditional love than most dogs I had growing up.
It’s hard for me not to take in every stray cat I find, but when my roommate got his cat, it was a very rough transition for mine. She doesnt take sharing territory well at all, so I’ll just have to stick with her, which is absolutely fine by me <3
Apparently I’m supposed to be a dog bro because of how I look. I’ve actually heard that before.
I love and respect all animals. I just happen to have only cats right now.
I definitely lean heavily to cats personally. I’m just not a fan of barking, and I dont like training/reprimanding animals. Which is a requirement with dogs. My cat literally doesnt get punished. She can do absolutely anything she wants, and I’ll just clean it up later. (Except using the litterbox, but I’ve never had a cat that preferred to use anything else). But also, same, I’m a larger dude that likes lifting weights and talking shit, so must like dogs. Those are (apparently) the rules.
*edit for cat tax, so we dont derail the thread
My mother in law has had Italian greyhounds her whole life. Those dogs have got the most varying personalities I’ve every seen. They actually had one with some gene defect that made it obese. Funniest thing I had ever seen, big ol bratwurst on toothpicks. Lived a full life on a healthy diet, it just couldnt lose weight.
You must read Lincoln and Child.
Yes! I am a Pendergast fan.
This is our Olde English Bulldogge. She can be quite stubborn but is one of the friendliest dogs I’ve met (with people, dogs, cats, horses ect.). She will also eat anything:
And really likes to sleep:
My cat, Gizmo, has a giant tumor on his head, that looks like we’ve sewn a ballsack containing one testicle to his head as an experiment. He’s gone from like 10 lbs to maybe 4, eats wet food all day and vomits most of it up, shits the rest of it out, he’s obviously hyperthyroid and going to pass soon. Shame, he’s a very cool cat. Hemingway cat too (extra toes). But he’s about 17, so he’s had a long good life. People have asked us about euthanizing him, but as long as he’s still eating, moving, and occasionally attacking the dog, he’s still got life to live.
That is a tough thing to go through. When I think about my animals getting toward the end, it really makes me sad.
I personally find the thought of euthanizing animals bizarre and incomprehensible.
Especially by people who supposedly love their animals so much that they try to give them human-esque rights.
Have you tried the cream you rub on their ears? It helped Black Kity make it another year.
