He’s a big ol beefcake but now is our sweetest of the 3. The other 2 are 11 and 12 y/old females that are not impressed with what is basically a giant teenager. He’s not too worried.
Buttons continues to delight, though we’ve had several health scares with her over the last year. But here she is, snowshoeing with us yesterday. We’re trying to teach her that she can lie down on husband’s coat and rest during our midway break, but it’s not going that well. Still, we were out for more than an hour yesterday and covered maybe a mile and a half. If the vets were right when we got her four years ago next week (Superbowl Sunday 2021) she’s turning 14-16 years old. What a champ. Her tail wag just fills me with joy. Excuse eye goop - shes on drops for her failing sight. Hat has fallen off to the side, too. We do our best to be photo-ready at all times, but it’s hard.
Last Buttons photo. She died peacefully at home yesterday, gazing into my eyes as I rubbed her ears and loved on her. She was the best good girl ever, and a joy of my life. Here are my first Buttons posts in this thread, and all of my hopes and dreams came true. Husband DID lift her in and out of the truck, and she was his best friend and co-conspirator re that slice of mountain. She DID get lit up with joy around my Cherokee, though she always needed help getting in. She canoed, she hiked, she floated in tubes, she snowshoed, and she learned to wag for all of the people in our family (and there are a lot of us). She was loved.
