Shoulder Injury Identification

I read this thread:

So you’re a chiro who can’t even design a safe program for himself.

Also quick to give medical advice based on an internet post from someone you’ve never met:

Fractures don’t last 6 months. Why would you need an MRI to check for a torn ligament? If a ligament is torn you can check for excessive movement in the knee.

Put some compression around the bottom of your knee.[/quote]

My back injury and program I was following have nothing to do with me being a chiro. Not sure where that one came from.

The advice I gave should’ve been worded better, but it isn’t bad advice. I believe the person in the post hadn’t received a physical exam yet and was asking about getting an MRI. It’s putting the cart before the horse. I can’t think of a single knee injury where compression is contraindicated so I think I’m safe there.

You and I both have a less than 25% tear in our subscaps. That’s a fancy way of saying it’s a small tear and will heal if you stop aggravating it. The advice given by the doctor was to rest it. I don’t know how the MRI changed anything in this situation except for the amount of money the patient has in his wallet.
