Gotta side with Sloth on this one. It’s fine to knowingly adopt a kid knowing you’re not the biological father, but getting duped like that, I have to believe is illegal in some kind of way.
That is blaming the victim. “Shouldn’t have worn those clothes and walked down the dark alley.” Perhaps it might be a useful tip. But it doesn’t change the egregious act, the horrible consequences, and with whom the guilt resides. I mean, I could blame grandma for falling for a tech support scam, I guess. But it doesn’t make the fraud any less evil.
And that of course assumes infidelity was a know proclivity for this woman. Frankly, it could be the one and only time the woman may have been unfaithful.
Look nobody is saying the law and application is fair. It isn’t. But the solution is not to force every birth to include a paternity test. It’s a waste of money and more government coercion.
If you don’t like family court law then vote for people who will change it. But don’t make me buy shit I don’t want.
Technically, she is. Like I said, I am happy things worked out for you.
My wife was super-sick with our daughter rendering her our last kid for sure. She shouldn’t have made it, her umbilical cord was attached to the amniotic sack, not her belly. But she’s a happy healthy, drama queen of a 16 yr old now…
Funny thing is, first daughter was also 6 weeks early, and she’s taller than literally every kid in her first grade. It’s hilarious.
I’m 6’1" and a beanpole and she’s a splitting image, wife is 5’3" and 2nd daughter is a splitting image of her. It’s so spooky it’s become a bit of a running joke in our families
Your other daughter is just a late bloomer, which has it’s advantages later in life. 10 fingers, 10 toes and good health is the most important thing as you well know.
Is it still ‘evil’ if the mother is unaware that her husband is not the biological father? Is it still ‘evil’ if they went through a rough patch, but have mended their relationship?
No, because it is still recommended (after age 21 or so).
Albeit rare, PKU is a condition for which the morbidity rate is 100% if not caught at/shortly after birth. Does false paternity carry a similarly dire prognosis?
That’s such a memorable turn of phrase, I just had to quote it.
