Hi, I’ve been on 250mg of Test E since 5/10. I started Anavar 50mg per day on 7/5. Got bloodwork on 7/24 and my AST and ALT are high. Is this cause for concern or is it normal on Anavar? I’ve been eating decent and have had absolutely no alcohol for about 4 months. Also taking NAC daily.
However, I am going on vacation in a couple of weeks and will be drinking. So with these values and my future alcohol consumption, should I stop taking Anavar?
For Reference, I had bloodwork done on 6/22 and my AST and ALT were both 21.
sorry, thats 250mg per week. I didnt get a lipid panel this time as the only reason I really got the bloods is because i wanted to check my E2 and prolactin levels as im around 20% body fat so even on 250mg per week i’ve had trouble feeling good. This is the best ratio ive had so far and I still feel like my E2 should be a little lower.
But thats another conversation. Im just worried about the Anavar now because I know nothing about liver health and those blood results.
Your liver values are both high. I’m certainly not the expert on ALT or AST, but I believe usually one rises and the other tanks when values are “bad”. So with them both being high I am not sure what to think.
Prolactin is in range, so nothing to worry about there from what I see.
Your E2 is VERY high. One of my previous cycles I was running 525 test and 350 NPP/wk with a low dose AI and my values were that high. I think I was around 90.
I highly recommend adding in an AI for your high E2, but the again your liver values tell me maybe you need to just cycle off (or just go to a TRT dose. something like 125-150 mg/wk) and try to let everything level out. Without having base line bloods it is hard to tell.
I’ve had high AST/ALT levels while on nothing but trt. If you lift weights then don’t be surprised by elevated liver enzymes. Add in heavy resistance training with anavar and yeah, those numbers are not out of the ordinary.
With an E2 of 100 part of that 20% BF might just be water weight. That high E2 could be why you are not feeling so good.
If you have been on this low dose cycle since 5/10 how long are you planning to run this cycle?
I was planning on a 16 week cycle. So 8 weeks of Test only and the last 8 weeks on Test + Anavar. Cycle would end on August 30th.
I started the cycle on 12.5mg of Aromasin 3 days per week. I was feeling super shitty so I got blood work on 6/22 and my E2 was at 3. I immediately stopped the Aromasin and started feeling better. Now I think its too high so im feeling not as great again.
With the way my body aromatizes at 20% body fat it seems damn near impossible to get my E2 dialed in. The problem is, im going on vacation the second week of August and dont want to make any drastic changes and end up feeling even more shitty on vacation.
I think i have 2 options. Drop testosterone dose to 200mg per week OR stay at 250mg and take 6.25mg of Aromasin 2x per week.
Op post a picture so we can all gaze upon every percent of fat you have.
Edit: also, @readalot BF is so individualistic, as I’m sure you know. I carry ALL my fat in my torso (prime genetics yo). My last dexa I was 14% and I’d bet $100 everyone who saw me would guess 20 or better.
I must have missed that. If the bodpod says he’s 20%, then I think it’s probably pretty close.
Why do you think they’re shit? They’re supposed to be the best measurement aside from a DXA scan. I mean you can manipulate them if you aren’t fasted or maybe you’re carrying a ton of extra water weight over what you normally would. Otherwise, I tend to think they’re solid
I just googled them. I’m getting them confused with another thing I routinely see in gyms that’s a bod something. They are just impedance meters… looks like an actual bod pod is fairly accurate.
I think you’re referring to the inbody scanner. The thing that you stand on and hold the handles. I had one of those measure me at 16%, then a month later a bodpod measured me at 26% lol
My guess is 250mg gets you well above the upper range. 175mg has me >1500ng; while we’re all different, and you won’t know until you take it and do labs, I’d bet that’s plenty to get you into supra-physiologic territory
@anon18050987 why are you busting this man’s balls? He has stated he takes 250mg/w and added anavar and now asks if he should stop the AAS due to his latest bloods? What more can you ask from a guy. He posted his base and what he added. Then did bloods after a period of time. What more could we ask for? You are a very smart man stop chastising him and help him out. Look at his latest bloods and offer an opinion. That is all any of us can do here.
@anon18050987 is one of the most intelligent and non-combative members here. I think you misunderstood his message if you took malice from it. He is direct and doesn’t mince words, but that doesn’t mean his intent is to be rude or mean.
His comment about BF% isn’t a slight to you, it’s more about the fact that most guys that are obese believe they’re 20% BF (I fell into this category when I was 26% BF and thought I was 20%). And this is proved by the fact that most guys that claim 20% will then post a picture and it paints a MUCH different story with respect to body composition.
I ended up stopping the anavar. About 4 days after stopping it, I got extremely itchy all over my body. To the point where I was awake at 4am because I couldn’t sleep due to the Itchiness. I ended up going to the local urgent care doctor and showed him my bloods and told him I was on Anavar. He said my liver values were high but not extreme. He advised I drink Absolutely no alcohol for 4-6 weeks until my liver values come down. Which will be extremely hard since im going to Mexico next week. I Plan on getting bloods again right before I leave and see if my values come down any.
The itchiness went away after a couple of days so I believe they already came down but we’ll see. I got bloods on my lipids when I was at the doc and they were pretty bad.
