While I was hoping to hear from anyone on the pellet topic, I was really hoping to hear from Jon most of all as I have been following this thread for awhile. Come on…Good grief…Not hijacking at all. As a matter of fact…This particular thread is the reason for my first post.[/quote]
The etiquette we have established at this forum calls for posters to keep their own personal case threads separate from other members’. This serves two purposes:
-Allows us to better help you because you have a single case thread as your “home base” with all your info in it for quick reference.
-Keeps clutter about personal unrelated topics out of other memebers’ case threads.
This thread to this point had not been a general discussion of pellets–it was discussion unique to Jonboy’s case…
However, joboy has said he is ok with this delving into a pellet discussion, which is fine…but keep what I said above in mind as you go forward as it may impact your ability to get quality feedback and assistance here.

Your not hijacking, this is a thread concerning pellets (an unpopular subject around here).
My total T is 900 and I am thinking its too high to be honest.
Im feeling more flushed and red in the face and red palms and soles of my feet. My E2 was 65.

Thanks Jon. I agree the pellets don’t seem to be too popular. Im not sure why other than can be a bit hard to control the T level. Mine is very high as I type this post and don’t feel any difference back when it was lower like yours at around 900

I assume your a moderator. I was just trying to have a discussion with Jon. Its too much like walking on egg shells in this thread. Must be the pellet talk? I will bow out from now on.

Nobody is criticizing you, so stop taking things so personally…or maybe look into getting your E2 in check (which is harder with pellets)
Your initial post did not appear at all to be an attempt for conversation with Jon. It was a post about your specific situation in a thread that is not about your specific situation. Hence PC’s reasonable and considerate request that you open up your own thread. We have seen hundreds of those before, and made the exact same request to each–you’re the first one that seems to have taken it personally. We are not out to get you.
VTBalla34, My apologies. I own a business and always take things too personal with my employees and customers. Its one of my biggest weaknesses. I don’t participate in forums very often. I will try to get the forum etiquette correct. Again my apologies if Ive offended anyone.
Let me add one more observation I am noticing after 4 months on shots. I am bigger from a bodybuilding standpoint. My numbers (lab) are about the same but I am about 10 pounds heavier and look slightly leaner. I recently turned 55 years of age and have been lifting for 38 years so the only thing I can attribute it to is the test cyp vs. the pellets and certainly vs. the gel. Just my own experience FWIW.

Wonder why that would be if labs are the same? Do mean just total T? Comparing free T, E2, DHT? Those would certainly have an effect.
I haven’t looked into the differences in T. Are some forms more anabolic and/or androgenic?

Good point. The free T is higher, but so is the E2. Not sure on the DHT. I will try to find my old labs and compare. I just thought it was an interesting and a nice, unexpected benefit iny case.
Perhaps others who have used pellets and shots can chime in.
Hey guys, sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead. I tried sending a PM to some of the guys in here because I wanted to ask about pellets, but since I just registered I guess I’m not allowed to.
JonBoy, how are you doing? Still doing the pellets? Any scarring? Do they stay inside or have you had issues with them popping out?
Well I have been on pellets for several years and liked them until recently. Now I am having side effects that after reading here I suspect are because I am taking nothing for e2 or lsh with them. As a delivery system they work very well for me. Levels move a little but not horrible. I think the trick is that I get less pellets more frequently so there i usually have 2 sites active I suspect. When one set are dropping the other set are still good. My wife is on pellets also and we figured out that these things seem to stay in you for a while. When I start dropping I have a standing order for blood work and I reload.
I definitely understand the concerns about ups and downs though. It isn’t perfectly consistent but it doesn’t seem bad enough for me to want to give myself shots. Pellets are very convenient - 20 min dr appt and I and done messing with it, don’t have to carry it when I travel, etc. kind of like lasik for me. Contacts work fine and only take a few minutes a day but it is really nice to not mess with them anymore. I can see the benefits of both approaches.
I will post my recent issues (which I suspect have nothing to do with the delivery system) in my own thread.
Listen, I have been on gel for over 12 years. Moved back to NY and found a decent doc. He suggested pellets and I decided to give it a try. Sounded like a good idea UNTIL I started the procedures. The pain of the injections practically launched me off the table! The doc would try different sites, switch sides, but it didn’t help. Kept telling me I did not have enough “fat” to inject in. I now have a permanent scar on one side and some nerve damage on the opposite side. Just a warning to all! If it works for you congrats, but for me it was some of the most painful procedures I have been through. Back to gel (I do believe I have absorption issues) and may go to shots if the gel does not work. Best of luck.

I think if you take the 8 min or so to listen to a very prominent doctor located in SanDiego , you will understand pellets better. He only does pellets. He is implanted himself.
I will be starting here in NY soon as my Androgel is gone, injections were intense for me. Low dose but I felt I could tear down walls bear handed.
Anyway, my stats are not important. Check out Dr Stephen Center on YouTube. Watch him work but listen carefully. It’s not a lecture so he goes through info with minimal repetitiveness
Good video if you find the one where he installs 1400 m worth of pellets in a young 40 year old’s backside.
Personally I like a doctor who specializes on one certain thing like this and the great thing is he is on them also. My female doctor is on the way out. Nice person but just not up on the subject like this guy is. Plus I’ve not had any digital prostate checks in a while but a male doctor seems easier I m o to obtain this from.
Just my thoughts but that’s my old fashioned Brooklyn ways. If I had to I would but I’m not getting any digitalis or colonoscopies from miss doctor anytime soon.
Check out Dr Center. See if the release info seems logical to you.
I have been on injections since 2008. My Dr. has been trying to get me to go to the pellets. Theyre better or some crap. So I got curious and went ahead and did them this year and here is my response to them.
They were incredible the first week probably bc my levels had to be around 2000 which is seriously jacked up. Then into month 2 I stopped feeling them and had a lump on my ass where they put them. Had blood work done and they said my levels were low and had to add another 800 mg on top of the 2100 they originally put in. That worked great levels stayed up for 2 months now im at 4 months in i still have a minor lump on my ass from the initial operation and my t levels are down. Heres the kicker if I want pellets again, which I dont, all i have to do is go in and theyll put them in. If I want shots again, which I do, I need blood work.
My advice dont believe the hype. They want you to get pellets because its a money making scheme and your levels may be all over the place. Even when they were injecting me every other week instead of every week I’d still rather injections at half the cost no less.
I’ve been on pellets for about a year now and the process is literally a pain in the ass. The whole point, as my Urologist claimed, was to keep the levels more even over a longer period of time. The problem is that insurance won’t approve the costly procedure until my levels are low again. And they take about 6 weeks to get to full swing… So I’m about two months at my natural level of 300 (testicular cancer) until I feel like I can move again.
I’ve got an appointment June 3rd and could tell I was already completely bottomed out by the beginning of this month. So once I get blood work on the 3rd, then an appointment for the pellets the weeks later, then the 4-6 weeks or takes for my levels to rise…about 2 and a half months with my levels at 300 or most likely lower.
