His experience is different than yours, my experience in this country is different than yours. If you disagree with his message, by all means call him every name in the book. But he isn’t disrespecting veterans by not standing… he is making a statement about the need for this country to continue to strive to perfect those very values veterans fought to protect. The flag and anthem are supposed to symbolize the embodiment of those values IMO. Kap agrees, but doesn’t think those values are a reality for all.
He sees a complacent country that is generally okay with prejudicial police brutality… and frankly he might have a point judging by the number of “we are still the best in the world, so he has no point” responses in this thread. If you beat your wife less than your neighbor, you may be a better husband, but you’re still a pretty terrible husband.
If that is what he is complaining about, he is wrong. I don’t know anybody advocating for more police shootings/brutality, let alone the generalized country.
I do know that people feel the police have a right to defend themselves and citizens when there is a threat. Each situation needs to be evaluated if that was the circumstance or not. You can’t say every police shooting is wrong, when the cops kill somebody shooting up a night club I think that is within their right to do so. There is also a lot of grey area between pure innocence/doing nothing and on a rampage, so generalizing for that discussion is pointless IMO.
I don’t care what he does, but if he wants to bring so much attention to himself he better have a good reason and substance to back it up. I’m a bigger fan of athletes/celebs who don’t need to do it in the spotlight. Donate time/money to the cause you care about. I’m always a fan of helping others, and even if I don’t agree with the charity/foundation if that is a cause you believe in, more power to you.
If douche nozzle wants to make a difference maybe he should refuse to wear or endorse Beats by Dr. Dre as he promotes all sorts of garbage behavior within the black community. Oh, but wait, that doesn’t fit his bull shit narrative.
When has Dre hurt the black community in the last decade? Regardless that’s as moronic as me giving you shit for owning a shirt of an NFL team with a convicted wife beater on it.
The two marines I am close to agree that this is a perfect example of “I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it”. They are happy he is using that right.
He has a much larger platform to effect change than you or I. The very nature of him speaking out draws attention to him but also brings the issue into the forefront of popular culture. That is not narcissistic, that is how social movements gain momentum. And he is, and has donated very large sums of money to this cause as well.
At the end of the day, he is not intending to disrespect you personally, nor disrespect the flag or anthem. He is simply saying what they represent isn’t being fulfilled in this country and that needs to change. He has been clear about that. Why does that piss you off?
How many NFL teams have convicted wife beaters on their roster?
Zero, the answer is zero.
Dr. Dre has been convicted of battery against a police officer. How many times has been accused of violence towards women? That’s totally cool with Kap, though.
It’s called being a hypocrite.
That doesn’t in any way change what I’ve written about this douche bag.
Right, because we haven’t been talking about race at all in this country…
It seems to be working as a record number of police officers are being shot/killed this year.
You know this how?
You know this how?
That is your interpretation.
Clearly:
No disrespect intended. Got it…
Because he’s a fucking clown that doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about. Because men and women have bled and died for this dumb ass to disrespect their memory and legacy. Because this country is the freest and most equal state in the history of the known fucking universe; yet, dip shit insults the men and women that literally gave their lives to make it so.
It’s like Hillary Clinton talking about gun control behind armed security guards. It’s fuckin nonsense and yes it’s him being a narcissist because his 15 minutes are about up.
Ya might want to educate yourself about NFL rosters lol. You’re Waaaay off on that one. Worse than domestic violence too…
Not all military personnel feels disrespected.
How do you think American society should be improved? Are you working for that change in an active effective manner? Or do you think it’s perfect and we should shutup and be thankful.
I would think all those who served to ensure the right to free speech and protest would be happy those rights are being used. I guess not.
Lastly, do you believe that because you served in the military and I did not, you are more qualified in your opinion on what kap is doing?
Like how you’re 25% more likely to be hit with pepper spray or a baton… Lol; except, that’s a ridiculous way of looking at it.
The bottom line is that you have a slightly higher chance (21.7% v. 18.5%) of being in a physical altercation with a police officer if you’re black. It’s a tiny variation that’s probably within the standard deviation, which means it’s immaterial.
“How do you think American society should be improved?”
“Are you working for that change in an active effective manner?”
You are aware that Mr. K hasn’t answered the first one and would have to answer “no” to the second one right?
“Or do you think it’s perfect and we should shutup and be thankful.”
False dichotomy. Being thankful and respectful requires niether one to shut up nor to think the country is perfect. By this logic, the question to you would be “Or do you think it’s imperfect and want to destroy the entire country?” So, I guess you want to burn the nation to the ground because it isn’t perfect, huh?
I agree with this. I think he should use it all he wants. I still think he is doing these things for selfish look-at-me reasons. I’m in the camp that thinks he’s being stupid, and holds a stupid view of things, but nobody here has said “he shouldn’t be able to do or say that”. Nobody here even suggests that.
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY in here has said, implied, or otherwise believes that American Society is perfect or that there are no problems in the police force or the inner cities, or families, or anywhere else that need fixing. Nobody has said that. Nobody thinks that.
