Could please someone tell me that this is a hoax?
I eat meat, I think it is OK to kill an animal for that. I also think that hunting is OK, if it serves to balance animal populations. But shooting an animal just for the heck of it using your mouse sucks and is the ultimate case of spineless T-lessness.
I am disgusted beyond belief.

I saw a news piece on that Makkun and let me tell you as a hunter I think that would be despicable! It’s worse then the canned hunts where rich guys go to ranch’s and shoot tame elk in a field. They might as well go to the zoo and hunt.

It’s real. It’s deplorable. It’s worse than what Elk reffered to. There a lot of ‘exotic game’ ranches in around my state. These amount to little more than a few hundred acres that are fenced off with 9’ varmit-proof fences where the rich lazy bastards can drive around until they corner their ‘wild game’ and then act like they’ve actually accomplished something.
It’s even worse than feeding deer at the base of your deer stand.

Good post, rainjack. Couldn’t agree more.
Now here’s the hard question: shouldn’t this – and what you described – be simply somehow outlawed? I guess that there are some private property laws that could be an impediment, but there’s plenty of laws (including the ever-present example of sodomy laws) that interfere with what people are allowed to do in their private property…
Maybe BB has some input on that aspect.
Gotta agree Rain. Here in East texas we do a lot of hunting, but it is work, lot of time and enegy invested in game management, setting up food plots, feeding year round, etc., and then you still may not get a decent shot all year. The whole game ranch, cannned hunt thing is not hunting, just an open air meat proecessing plant. Now if soemone wants to start ranching elk, deer, etc. and you can go pick out the one you want, have it processed and brought home, would go for it. Be cheaper than hunting if you totalled it up. But its not hunting, don’t call it that
I myself have never liked the idea of setting in a stand and waiting for the deer, just too boring. Prefer just to take off through the woods, track the game, use your skills, thats how I learned to hunt. Problem is you’ve gotta have a lotta land to roam around on. Try that in most hunting leases and the weekend hunters from the city will mistake your ass for a deer, and bang, you’re be hangin on the wall.
