So, I’ve taken an interest in hunting the last couple of months due to the fact that the girls at my work wont shut up about their trucks and their boyfriends bagging bucks. Really, I’m just looking for tips, guides, possibly locations of public hunting lands in Texas (apparently, they’re hard to find). I also read that Hog Hunting is year round and I think information on that is a good start.
So you think hunting is going to get you laid more? From experience spending 30-45 days in the field has lost me more gf’s than I can remember. Killing trophy’s is a status symbol. In Texas, it’s a very expensive hobby.
Start by taking a hunter safety class offered by Texas Parks and Wildlife.
You’re in houston right? For public land hunting, look into the Sam Houston, Davy Crockett, Angelina, and Sabine National Forests
Hog hunting is fucking fantastic. You should really try it with a large hunting knife and running them with dogs covered in Kevlar vests.
Also hogs are considered a pest so there is no limit.

Not like your typical pork. More greasy and game tasting.

No, the idea that hunting will get me laid more has never crossed my mind. I just want to pick up a new hobby. I only mention the girls at my office because they talk about how fun it is and it looks cool. (Evidently, the girls at work are all kickers and country bumpkins while all the dudes are hipsters) I’ll defintley look in those state parks. What do you hunt with? Gander Mountain have Mosin-Nagant going for under $120 so i’m considering that.

Lol, I think that type of hunting might be too advance for me. I need to get down the basics like stalking and tracking first. I figure that hogs are year round and plentiful that they should be easy to hunt but people tell that they are pretty damn dangerous as well. If I miss with a bolt action, I better be fast at reloading or running.

Hunting is also a euphemism for getting laid. In my experience.

I didn’t know Canada was so violent. So far we’ve had zero huntin related casualties this year in Maine. That’s pretty damn near a record for us I’d say.

In that it involves subterfuge, camouflage, stalking and ambush?
You intrigue me more and more.
lol it isn’t the fact that it was violent they had mistaken each other for deer’s. Not all of us are highly intelligent up here.
Also beth if you draw or release a pic of your boobs lemme know!!!

I wouldn’t get a Mosin-Nagant for a first hunting rifle. Get a bolt action in a standard American caliber 30-06, 308, 270 which ever is popular Your neck of the woods. Ask the girls at work what caliber rifles their boyfriends use and pick the most common one.
Savage makes decent rifles that aren’t super expensive. Mossberg, Remington, Winchester are all good options. The problem with the Nagant is they are all used and condition will vary a great deal.

Cool, I’ll look at Savage and ask when I get a chance.

From what I read, from what people have been telling me, and from the plentiful of hogs and the year round hunting acessibility, yes, Hog hunting is apparently “easy”.

Well, let us define our terms.
