Holiday sounds fantastic - glad you had a good time.
D’you think the squats sucked because of Flo, or did that come after? I find squatting is something I have to do regularly. I can’t comment on snatches as I don’t do them (except single arm dumbell or kettlebell).

Cal, not sure why they suffered, maybe just because I have not done them in awhile. And my knees are feeling a bit different. I did some light weight squats on Tues, even those felt a bit funny. What did feel better was when I held a plate out in front of me while squatting. Did that yesterday too and those felt like I was using the proper muscles & form. Dunno, might continue doing those until I can get my squat mojo back.

Lets see what have I done over the week…did some yoga, went to pool. Oof even swimming is hard, only did less than 8 lengths, then I woke up sick again, people brought their germs in at work.

Didn’t do anything yesterday except for some light squatting at home.

I’m just putting this down to a bad week with flo & sickness. I’m going to go for a short session tonight, just to work on my jerking & some squatting. Might throw in a few snatches but I’ll see how my heart rate goes. My coach is sick too so I’ll have some space to myself.

I did go through & donated loads of stuff & clothes before the beginning of the year. I have barely any clothes now but I feel so much more organised with them. Even had my outfits picked out for the whole week. Gonna go through all my ‘toiletries’ this weekend.

Oh yeah found a lunch time pilates class that starts Jan 17, a bit more than I wanted to spend but its a 2 minute walk from work. She’s also a neuromuscular therapist, and has programmes for posture improvements. So she’s not just some instructor who got a certificate. We’ll see, its only 4 weeks.

Somehow I’ve equated not drinking this month with eating as much sugar as I want .

Actually scratch the quick session. I’m gonna go home rest & just do some more easy squatting at home. Have to do our 8 degrees snorkel on Sunday.

Don’t get too distressed about it! When I came back from holidays in the summer my wrists and forearms were so weak I could barely snatch 50% of my max. It didn’t take long for the strength to come back but it was disconcerting for sure. My log was like this:

It’ll be interesting to hear about the Pilates class. Is it mat based or one with all the machines?

Patches, its mat based. She has different classes, the machine one is for more advanced. Mostly she does posture correctional exercises or something like that. I’ll let ya know in a couple of weeks.

Still slightly sick, skipping snorkels tomorrow. I’ve tried to do some free-range squats here & there though.

Weekend was somewhat of a disaster. A big bathroom mirror cabinet decided to fall on me. Could’ve been worse, all I got was a little dent in the cheek (the face cheek). So I decided to comfort myself with baking stuff. Was still sick, still kind of am. No snorkies or lifting for me. I’ve been waking up in the middle of the night again not being able to sleep.

Where’s the reset button? I’ll come back when I’ve straightened out my attitude.

Oh and here’s a pic of my holiday toes. Missing sunshine holiday today.

Is that green? I had a polish like that a few years back but it just didn’t go with my skintone. Pity, because it’s a nice colour and looks great on you.

It’s a bluey green. Sigh unfortunately polish doesn’t last very long on me, especially since I’m in the pool and sea once a week from now on.

Oh and my jerk too. I don’t think I was racking the jerk properly, I’m sticking my head back a little and making sure the bar is where it should be. Jerk was BAM BAM yesterday.

My coach didn’t go for trying out the jerk first, bah I just wanted to do it for 1 or 2 sessions but he was major grumpy. Seems he and my lifting friend were arguing for about an hour before I came. Anyway guess it didn’t matter, he had me do a short session though since I was just getting over being sick. But I had loads of energy.

Hmm woke up with scratchy throat and chest though, need to get Vit C into me, and I think this calls for more chilli!!!

Ok bring on 2012 and that 50kg snatch!

Thanks MiMsy & Lula! Stupid persistent bugs, I’m feeling slightly better. Last night I did a short power yoga sequence (although not much power in there) but skipped pool. I just got a wax too so my other excuse was I didn’t want the chlorine to irritate it.

Anyway lifting tonight, hopefully some energy kicks in. Actually my snatch is getting lonely on PW, miss other PW’s snatches :frowning:
