I like spinach best raw, in salad. It gets kind of snotty when you cook it. And I LOVE beets. I could just nom nom nom them.

Bah I’m sick now. Half the company is out too because of a death. Going to funeral tomorrow. I’m supposed to be leaving for holiday on Friday, diving next Mon & Tues, hopefully I’ll be better for that. PLEASE!

No 40kg snatch for me before Xmas. Oh well at least we tried that 37kg, so that’s a nice session to end a PB on. Doesn’t look like it’ll be till next year until I have another session again.

37kg is very good if you’re sick. Hope you manage to recharge over Christmas!

And I’m with you, it is amazing how just a small tweak in technique can change a lift completely. I remember that shoulders over the bar was also crucial for me - for getting my knees out of the way, of all things! Lol!

Hey Cal, well actually the 37 was 2 days before I got sick, so don’t be too impressed.
Maschy, yeah I was getting the shoulders over enough to not quite hit my knees anymore, but I still needed to be over a little bit more, so the path of the bar would go straight up. I could instantly feel the difference, I’m hoping the little struggles I had over the last couple of weeks made me stronger though?? Perhaps.

I’m still sick, had to go to a funeral all the way out using public transportation. I only showed my face really, then had the long cold trek home. I’m supposed to be packing and shit, but just feel like shit.

Ugh, feel better soon. Yeah, travelling when sick is not fun. As I can testify from the times I’ve done my three tube, 1 hr 15 commute to and from school after the kids have given me a cold.

yum spinach. need to check out the farmers market this weekend… i can’t believe how much it cooks down, too. like the baby spinach for salad. or for making a bed to pour red wine vinegar on then shoving bacon eggs and mushrooms on, more to the point.

i can’t believe how tiny little tweaks make such a difference for oly lifts, too! i think… there is always something like that going on with them. so cool when you get a mental breakthrough!!

Oh it was a safe travel, well I did get lost up in a mountain in the middle of a 5 hour hike, but that’s another story. I didn’t have to sleep out in a mountain for the night so could’ve been worse.

Mmm farmers markets, love them. There are not too many around here though.

Well I’m missing a 1-2 tiny tweaks on my jerk for some reason. They were so good when I did them first before snatching. Now I don’t know what I’m doing, sigh, but it’ll come.

Hey MiMsy, thanks, I missed you gals. I’ve been trying to read some of the logs just to keep up.

I’ve got 2 minutes…

Holiday was very good, was in the sun sun sun sun! Did 4 dives, 5 hour hike, lots of eating & drinking and just trying to feel better. Woke up to the waves and easterly sun every morning. Squeezed in a massage too after the hike.

Back to lifting yesterday after 2 weeks, never going to go that long again. I thought that the snatching would be the hard part and squatting the easiest. Oh boy was I wrong. Snatching was very smooth, got the 32kg up no problems, then I lost all steam. Went back to 28kg, they went up no problems but I really had to struggle to stand up.

My squatting sucks big time now! Everything felt heavy and I did more goodmornings than actual squatting.

Oh yeah and Aunt flo decided to show up at 3am this morning. Got DOMS and cramps and stuff. But coach is out tonight so will just do a quick session of snatching, jerks from rack & very very light squats to try to get back in touch with my form.

I’ll be back tomorrow gals!

aunt flo probably messed up your squats.

DOMS plus cramps = evil! Hope your workout today went better with the squats.
