I can’t believe they made you wait so long for your Dr to get there - yikes! Glad to hear breastfeeding is off to a good start. She’s really special, enjoy this honeymoon ![]()
Hey “Sic”, has she headbutted you or Kurt yet? Braddock likes to headbutt/headbang me. Must be all the Death Metal he heard while in the “oven”, lol.
Congratulations!!
Congratulations Sic. You are about to experience pride and emotions in ways you have never thought possible.
How is Mom doing?
I guess I missed out on the pregnancy photo session we ere planning to make sooo much money on. Still, that’s an amazingly beautiful girl you have there. It’s time to get started on another one.
This is the first day she finally wanted to do more than eat and sleep.

Ok… my video didn’t attach. You’ll have to check out my profile for the video.
We’re doing well. I’m tired and prone to crying. Daddy is tired but extremely supportive and always has a wonderful attitude. He’s helping balance my extreme hormonal mood swings.
The nursing is going well Jilly. I finally got past the painful engorgement and now she has more than enough to satisfy her. I did have a freak out when we noticed a little red tinge in her spit up. Turns out one of my nipples is bleeding so I have to pump that side and bottlefeed half her feedings. That shouldn’t last long.
Otherwise I am feeling really good physically and I know I’ll want to start getting out and getting some real exercise in another week.
OK,don’t cry, so here’s another Yo Momma story to make you laugh. After my daughter was born, and I was getting ready to check out of the birthing center, I realized that I needed sanitary pads, so I sent Yo Daddy to the nearby supermarket to get them. He comes back, meets me outside with the car, and opens the trunk to put my bag in.
There were about 6 or 7 huge boxes of different brands of pads. I started laughing. Think he got enough? When I opened the back door to put the baby in her new car seat, there were 4 more boxes. Now I’m laughing hard, but Yo Daddy is getting annoyed at the whole situation, and starts yelling. “There a whole frigging aisle of these damn things, stacked floor to ceiling! What the hell do I know about pads, so I just bought one of every kind there was!!!”
So when my twins were born a few years later, I had lots of unopened cases left. The rest I used to polish the furniture.

Thanks.
No seriously, Thanks!! Thats the funniest damn thing I’ve read in a long time ![]()
shit. I’m still laughing.
Hey Sic, your baby girl is really beautiful! I tend to love the quiet, cute kind. Enjoy ![]()
c.
I’m also loving the quiet cute kind!
YM, I love it that you call him Yo Daddy. That’s so funny for some reason…

LMAO… men, they mean well!
How on earth did I miss this thread?
Way to go sic! That video of her is so cool.
Well pleased for you all. Take care!
Incidentally - a story about me - not as good as Yo Daddy but…
When my second daughter was born, one evening I went to the local shop to buy nappies. I picked up pink packaged nappies (supposedly shaped for girls).
A few days later saw me back at the same shop but this time round I thought ‘well I bought pink last time so this time I’ll buy blue’.
It was only when I got home that I realised what I’d done. Duh.
I blame not sleeping for a week.
Just found this thread and wanted to say congratulations!! She is gorgeous and has a beautiful name. In my experience, if they start out quiet, they stay pretty quiet so yeah for that!! I hope you are doing well. I know what a shock to my system it was when I had my first. I went through a few weeks where I thought I had ruined my life. I now look back on that and laugh. Us women are such hostages to our hormones…sigh.
Love the Yo Daddy story too ![]()
Kara
I remember the hormone rollercoaster after having my first. Sappy commercials made be bawl! It was very overwhelming at first.
The hormones are regulating now that I’m getting more sleep and starting to feel like I just might know what the hell I’m doing.
Last night was great. We had bath time and then she actually let me sleep in my own bed for two hours straight!
I was going to go back to bed after the 2am feeding but I was so tired I fell asleep in my chair holding her. I’m sure she liked that. I just finished my two hour nap this morning so I’m feeling pretty good right now.
Really really want to start training… like now.
If it weren’t 32 outside we’d go for a walk.
And how is it possible to have 4 messy diapers in three hours? Really, that’s just not fair!
SIC!!! CONGRATS!!! I haven’t logged in for sometime now so I missed this!!!
Your daughter is GORGEOUS and so is her beautiful name!
How are you managing? It gets much easier… remember??
Way to go!!
Love,
D

Another photo… since I can’t seem to stop taking them I might as well share. ![]()
D - I’m waiting for the easier part! Everything is good except for the sleep. She’s very laid back and hardly fusses. She loves her bath and hardly cries during diaper changes in the middle of the night. Now if I could just get as much sleep as her and stop crying over nothing
sic, in time my friend, in time ![]()
Those post partum blues are a bummer ey?? Enjoy even these moments when you are teary and have a total lack of sleep cuz they FLY by. Before you know it you look back and wonder where all the time went.
If you ever need to vent or want a listening ear, you know where to find me. I will admit after my third I went through TERRIBLE post partum depression.
Love,
D
