Share Your Recipes!

Alright T-Nation, if you eat right, you must know how to cook. It may not be extravagant cooking, but at the very least you must have stumbled over some cool recipee that you really like. So share away! Even if it’s not something that is especially unique, let’s hear it.

I’ll start. This is by far the quickest and simplest recipee that I use and it tastes golden.

2-4 cans (1-2 packets, depending on size) of light tuna
2 celerey stalks
~1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Lemon

Just cut up the celery into small(ish) pieces, put it in a bowl with the tuna, add the olive oil and mix well, then cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice over the whole thing. If the tuna is packed in oil, olive oil isn’t necessary. You can make huge portions and store it in the fridge if needed, it stays preserved very well.

Recipe threads are ALWAYS great ideas!

Yeah…some guys are REALLY strict…but remember that JB has stated more than once in the past that:

  1. P+F meals can have 10g or less of carbs (low glycemic)

  2. P+C meals can have 5g or less of fat.

Here are the links to JB’s “Beyond Oatmeal” series.

Why isn’t there a separate forum just devoted to recipes?

The greatest idea!

I absolutely cannot tell for the life of me if you guys are being sarcastic or not.

Dan:

ABSOLUTELY serious!

A recipe “Forum” had been bantered about for a while…

I say “keep asking”…the list of Forums has really changed over the years. I would imagine that the guys look at the possiblity periodically.

Can you have that done by say…tomorrow? Work on that world peace thing while you’re at it.

I’d really like a recipee forum too… I did a search before posting this and I didn’t come up with anything so I figure no one else has thought about it.

How come it never happened? Diet, to me, is harder to maintain and control than the actualy weightlifting when you want to bulk up. I think it’d help a ton.

My favorite: Chicken fajitas

Cut up two chicken breasts in to 1 inch cubes. Stir-fry chicken in non-stick skillet, with maybe a little olive oil. Cook for about 5-10 minutes over medium-high heat until no longer pink. Add dry fajita seasoning and salt to taste (I get mine in the Walmart mexican food section- good stuff).

Also, cut up peppers and onions, stir fry for a couple of minutes.

I then put this in low-carb tortillas, with maybe a little cheese, and black beans depending on current goals.

Really good, really easy.

Lets keep them coming

Jeff

My wife hates dry chicken breasts so when buying chicken breasts in bulk, I marinate them before freezing.

Marinade:

Equal parts olive oil and lemon juice,
1 tbsp Italian herbs (Origano, thyme, rosemary, whatever paddles your canoe)

Add two chicken breasts to half a cup of this mix in a baggie and freeze. It marinates the chicken while freezing + defrosting.

Chicken/Turkey patties.

Chuck all into a blender -
4 Chick/Turkey Breasts, chopped, a pack of spring onions,2 cloves of garlic, 1 lightly beaten egg white, 1 teaspoon of; english mustard, cayenne pepper. Mix up in the blender, then using hands make into patties, stick in the fridge and after half hour fry them, grill, however you want. Very tasty and easy to prepare, also freeze well so you can have emergency patties to hand!

OATMEAL/WHEAT GERM PANCAKES:

1/3 cup of each: rolled oats, wheat germ and ordinary pancake mix.
1 whole egg
splash of olive oil
add whole milk to get right consistaency.

Smother with real Canadian maple syrup and park them next to some Canadian back bacon on a plate.

PS: One more vote for the recipe category.

Fried Chicken: I toast one slice of low carb whole grain bread. Then, put it in a blender with some garlic powder, pepper, oregano, parmesan cheese and salt. Blend it until it looks like bread crumbs. Next, put the bread crumbs in a plastic bag. Next, dip the chicken in some milk (i use hood low carb,) and place in the plastic bag; shake. Finally, fry them up in a little olive oil.

ps…Atkins pancake mix also works really well as fried chicken coating.
