Shane's Over 35 Shenanigans

Nice! I checked out a few of her videos last weekend. Seems like I probably need to get a few accessories before I really get into it. Spatula, scraper, maybe a bottle for the oil and something to use for cleaning it. Are there any that you recommend?

All of those and a cooking cover, steamer type of thing, is nice to have.

The breakfast kit is pretty slick. Egg rounds, and the bacon press are both nice to have.

Peloton

Just turning the pedals over and keeping my streak alive. Tomorrow I have a pretty heavy squat day squat day so I didn’t want to overdo today’s ride.

Also got my blackstone put together and cooked my first simple breakfast of eggs and bacon on it. Ended up doing after church and I was so hungry I didn’t take any breakfast pics.

Did snap a pic of final install though.

Going to do some chicken thighs on it tonight. :sunglasses:

Way to gain a rep on bench and nice job on the Peloton ride! Also good work getting the Blackstone up and running! That lunch looks amazing! As in I wasn’t hungry before seeing that post and now I’m starving… :joy: Last night I cooked some marinated steak tips on the Green Egg but was tempted to try them on the Blackstone. It will be hard to not cook steak on the Green Egg, but I look forward to trying some other stuff on the Blackstone.

Finally went out and bought that accessory kit mentioned above and some extra of the little aluminum grease catchers. Still need to actually cook something on it though…

The fajitas at this mexican restaurant are fire. The veggies are onion, red peppers, zucchini and squash. Then they use roast type of meat for the beef, chicken and shrimp. Really tasty. :+1:

The green egg is hard to beat. Some of the best meat I have had has come off an egg. Typically when I am doing steaks on the blackstone I am slicing up some sirloin and making fajitas, or some stir fry, etc.

I haven’t actually cooked a good steak on mine yet. I am sure it will do one though.

Good first cook on it is bacon. Can’t mess that up. :joy:

By far, the best meat I’ve ever had has come off of an Egg. It’s to the point where I pretty much refuse to eat at expensive steak restaurants. We haven’t been to one in 5 years or so, but every time we do I say the same thing. “We just spent $300 on this meal and could have cooked something better than this for a third of the cost at home.”

Those fajitas look amazing. Thought you cooked them on the Blackstone. LOL You probably could though. :sunglasses:

I have a pellet smoker and it’s good for BBQ, but once it breaks I plan to buy an egg to replace it.

Yeah I could make those fajitas with the blackstone no problem.

Our weekend thing is to go grab mexican and then I take my son and wife to get an ice cream. I doubt I will be able to talk them out of that so I will keep letting our Mexican spots make them for now. :person_shrugging:
