If I try to get a big breath of air before unracking I tend to put the bar to close to my throat, so this seems to be working out the best for me. It feels the best at least.

I always find the worst bit to be when you get into the hole and you can feel dat bish of a bar pressing on your throat and everything goes light and floaty for a while…

Regardless, fantastic PRs mayne. The bench was a particularly impressive lift, dat grind mayne. Similarly solid front squats, they might of felt hard but it looked e-z. Gainz in here breh!

Judging from that video, your going to have a very respectable front squat very fast, nice work

@phlegms: The bench was quite a bit harder than what I would have liked but oh well. It’s a paused PR tie I guess.
I have no problem with the bar pressing on my neck in the hole since I bend over badly. Getting up to a 4 plate FS is going to be fun, but I won’t be going heavy next cycle.

A really great workout. They have all been good on this cycle with just 3 weekly workouts. I’ll be changing it back to 4 though, since I’ll be done with exams Monday so I’ll have an extreme amount of free time. I’ll be keeping it simple since that seems to work well.

Deads looked stupid easy, I foresee 200kg falling very soon!

Thought getting 20 would be quite easy but it turned out to be hard. A lack of rep work and a sore lower back I guess. Back was crazy pumped at the end.

Tried deficit deadlifts, both sumo and conventional, as well as snatch grip deads, but I really can’t get in a proper position.

Machine Leg Press
“100” x 10
“120” x 15
“130” x 20
Slow negative, heels together with feet pointed outwards. I forgot how great/awful these feel.

Leg Curl
“25” x 15
“25” x 14

Then tried a standing leg curl, but that was no good.

Ab Pulldown
“60” x 10
“70” x 10
“70” x 12

Seated Calf Raise
40kg x 20
DC style, except the rep range.

Fine workout, really hard with the higher reps. The tempo was quite slow but I hadn’t eaten. Training fasted is no problem at all if it’s early, but when it gets a bit later it has an impact.

Outside of training I had my last exam today. As expected I was pretty fucked, I fear I might even get a grade lower than average this time. 2 months of vacation though, so I’ll have time to play some D3. I’ll have to buy Uncharted 3 as well.

Feel you bro, super high rep squatting is definitely tough when your not used to it. I had a goal of 140x20 ages ago, but have still come nowhere near that… can’t even remember if I’ve hit 12ish at that weight. Based on your squat though, you should be good for at least 120 x 20, probably more :wink:

With a fresh back I should definitely be able to get a 120kg widowmaker. That isn’t my main priority at the moment though.

I just got home from partying after finishing this semester. On my way home I saw that an B&J Apple Pie ice cream existed so I had to try that since I love apple pie. After cycling for a while I realized that I dropped the ice cream, so I had to ride my bike back to find it.
I was however very disappointed in the taste so I threw half of it away. Cookie Dough is so much better.

It’s going to be good to be able to sleep until I wake without having a bad conscience for not doing enough school work. Training wise I’ll probably do some cardio tomorrow.

Very deaload-ish workout so nothing exciting.

100kg x 20 looks all kinds of painful. I am such a low rep whore.

I’m usually low repping it as well, so it definitely was a challenge, especially mentally. When the muscles start burning I mostly feel like just stopping even though it’s possible to keep grinding.

Just did some pulldowns and cardio today.

I worked up to the stack (“100”) x 5 on the V-grip pulldown, which is a PR. Couldn’t get my legs properly under the leg rest though, so it was quite awkward.

I rode the bike for 25 minutes. Hit 9 km in distance so took it pretty easy. I was feeling great afterwards so I’ll definitely be doing more cardio.

I haven’t done a widowmaker squat set in a while, will have to get one in this week!

Started my day by doing 25 minutes of FMC on the bike. Got 9.5km today which is 0.5km more than yesterday.

Just did some easy stuff to get the blood moving.

Pause Front Squat

Did all of these with a 3 count pause. Form felt really solid on the top set.

Then I decided to try the seated leg curl since I was to lazy to carry a weight all the way across the gym to do back raises. That’s probably the worst POS I’ve ever tried.

Tried to raise my legs a bit so I could get perfectly straight. I liked it.

Just an easy little workout. Next week will be more sets of everything since it isn’t deload week. Tomorrow I’ll just do some FMC again.
