You guys serially care about some chick movie?

Yes, but not because it’s a chick movie. My issue is this. I like watching all movies, even chick flicks. However, a movie like this only has an appeal to fans of the show. Since I never watched the show, I can’t get into the movie.

I’d feel the same about any movie based on a TV show that I wasn’t a fan of.

Your issue is that a movie was made that you have no interest in seeing?

No, you misunderstood my point. I didn’t say I didn’t have any interest in it. I said I like watching all movies. This includes chick flicks. However, I can’t enjoy this movie, as I’m not familiar with the source material.

Are you saying this is a movie that I could watch and enjoy not having any real knowledge about the series it was based on? Or do you need to have been a fan of the show in order to get the references?

As I said, I’d feel the same about any movie based on a TV show that I wasn’t a fan of.

Well, I thought the topic was how Sex in the City made women crazy… or something like that. No, I doubt if you would like the movie. I never watched the series either, so I also would probably not enjoy the movie as well.

Now that is just silly. We all know your species was CRAZY long b4 you were given Sex in the City. Why cant you all just be more like us? Scratch your crotch when it itches, shotgun a beer and then burp your ABCs and be Lust filled hormone dripping(the good ones) sex fiends?

O and dont forget comic book reading. The world would be a much better place. You women with your ching chang chong and your kung-fu.

Damn right Himora22. Damn right!

Why do you women always do this? Everything we men try to do, you women come in and kick out our feet from under us. We try having a civilized discussion and you come in with your estrogen flaring, screaming about “Sex and the City is great, why can’t you be like us, drink more cosmopolitans, etc.” Seriously, stop it. You take everything else away from us…let us have this.

Do you even know how hypocritcal this is? Okay, let me preface by saying I DON’T ENJOY SEX AND THE CITY AT ALL. That being said, why do you give a shit about the movie?

If you’re not a fan of the show, not going to watch the movie, and it’s never going to personally affect you, what’s your dilemma? Let the women have their movie, don’t take that away from them.

Seriously, this thread should have never even been started.[/quote]

I’m starting to question your loyalty, guy. You’re either with us or against us. Choose a side. Choose wisely.

Harden the fuck up.

=D

To be perfectly honest… I’m not going to see it.

My only gripe against the movie is that it perpetuates the idea that all women should just wait for something better, because eventually, a rich, handsome guy with a large penis will settle for them, even if they look like a horse (yep, a SJP joke thrown in for good measure).

And I can’t really fault em that, as romantic comedies, even the man-humor ones like Knocked Up, have been perpetuating the idea that hot women can fall in love with nice douchebag fuck-ups forever.

How the hell do you, and others, know what the show is about or perpetuates? I’ve never seen a single episode, read an article, or learned anything about it.

I’ve seen a few episodes. My ex and my mother are both huge fans. I’ve also had the plot of the show and movie summarized for me by my mother over dinner, against my will. She raped my ear hole with horrible, horrible words =(

(Once again, I’m just disapproving of fantasy in a supposedly real life paralleling movie. This is done in about half of such movies, and the other half are depressing or boring.)

Fucken Spot on!

I never saw a single episode of that show, so no way will I waste money to sit through the torture of having to watch those horny hags.

I think you’re pretty far off base here. I know the guys doing it and I’m sure they’re going to give a good, balanced perspective.

My frame of reference is based completely off of the movie trailer. I don’t know the guys who made it, but the preview makes it look like Greg Valentino is a result of anabolic steroids, and not a result of serious mental issues and Synthol. THAT, would piss me off, if it is indeed portrayed in the movie that way.

As for this actual thread: PLENTY of women I know roll their eyes if guys are talking about Rambo or Ironman. Who cares? So, why care if a bunch of guys are metaphorically rolling their eyes about some overly cheesy ugly-chicks being paraded around as self-absorbed sex symbols and somehow banging Calvin Klein model men movie? To each their own, but that doesn’t mean the other people can’t talk about how stupid they think it is.

Yeah. Most of the Valentino or Valentino-included ‘documentaries’ have been like exactly like that. Very annoying. As far as the women, only two are ugly. Two are pretty hot. Well, maybe not anymore. But they once were back in the days when dinosaurs and mastodons roamed the earth.

All you single guys take notes. If you need an easy score, be camping out at the movies by the exit doors from Sex In The City, with a bottle of Skyy or Stoli. If you still don’t succeed do the same at male rippers club.

Here’s a challange for every T-Man:

Ask all the ladies in your life, wife, girlfriend(s), and co-workers if they’re excited about the movie in theatres. Next, with genuine interest ask them which character they identify them selves with?

Resist the urge to laugh at them when they
all say Carey and Charlotte. There ain’t no f’way any of them will admitt to Miranda or Samantha. Yet we all know they’re out there.

I asked my wife just last night if she had any urge to see it, and she said “no”.

Upon inquiring with her as to why she’s not into that show or movie, she said “because it’s stupid and the girls are incredibly annoying.”

My wife rules.

Haha! Sounds like the conversation my wife and I had regarding the film! Our wives rule.
Of course my wife ONCE watched the tv show and thought it was stoooopid.

Exactly. As for BSF, I do know Mark Bell, Jackass, is the brother of the guy doing the film. Jim McDonald is a buddy of mine and he trains with Mark. He’s a pretty decent powerlifter and he thinks they did a well balanced film.

From what I understand they’re trying to show all sides and some fo the hypocrisy of the steroid debate. The clip with Greg Valentino is obviously to catch a person’s eye. You should see the clip with the fitness model who does supplement adds. they ask him about him using steroids but talking about the supplement results, and he replies that it’s not his fault if people aren’t smarter.

It should be a good film. As long as they’re honest all around.

The difference is we know Rambo and Rocky are fantasy.

I don’t know. The way some of you guys talk about your movies I do wonder sometimes.

Most women think Sex and the City really fucking happened.

Why? Because women will talk about movies they like with the same enthusiasm in which some of you men discuss the movies you like.

Women think that you guys believe that Rambo is a real dude.

I’m sorry, I would reply but I have to go read Twilight.

The reason why men can complain about chick flicks is that our wives/girlfriends/dates make us go see this shit. No man ever made you watch a guy flick.
