Cop hate? Everyone here isn’t talking about hating all cops. My next door neighbor is a cop. We get along great. Dude will call me if I leave my garage door open (I did this once) just to make sure I’m ok.

We are talking about the INSTITUTION of being a cop in this country and the FACT that they do cover up for each other and discourage acting against other cops if you do see something wrong.

You can’t even deny this…and acting like we shouldn’t have a problem with it is very strange.

THAT is why people say they “hate cops”…because even if you do know a great one, the institution itself is screwed from the ground up.

If this stuff was not being caught on film, people would be acting like people were making up the brutality…which obviously means there is tons of shit you don’t even know about.

As far as your support of “trolling”…no one claimed that poster wasn’t one. I do believe that is the point. if that is why you come here, then that is what you are. Why support the troll?
Maybe not everyone, but the person who started the thread, TheBodyGuard, clearly hates any and all cops. angry chicken gave the impression that he did as well up until a few posts ago. Most people who posted in support of the OP also gave off that impression. I’m glad to hear that you don’t hate all cops.

It’s fine to have a hatred for the bad seeds in the law enforcement field but condemning a group as a whole due to the actions of a few is wrong in almost any instance.

I don’t ‘support’ trolling. I’m just saying that he’s trolling right now because people seem anxious to write him off as a racist when I don’t think he actually is.
If they do say they hate cops, they have a freaking point. That is what I’m saying. We get it, some of you haven’t seen any of this. Maybe you lived in some great fairy tale neighborhood where no one ever got harassed by cops…but that ain’t here. The cop presence in this city has grown so much in the time since I wen to the military that I literally can not drive down the street more than maybe 2 miles without seeing one. With that many cops, excuse me if I worry about the power they have.

As far as trolls go, once again, if that is all you come here for, that is ALL you are. Anything else is irrelevant.

Most professions have a governing body to regulate and oversee as part of a state or federal license. I cannot practice in the state of Texas without this license, if I fuck up not only will I be sued for malpractice I also will possibly lose my ability to practice or be punished.

point taken, i have no idea what kind of experience you have had with the police force, im not so naive to believe that abuse of power doesnt occur, and again we shouldnt accpet it, but i would wager that the majority of people who bitch about cops are people that people who have experinced a cop being a dick about a speeding ticket or busting up a party. most people have not experienced police brutality. With an organization as large as law enforcement, bad shit will happen, but most of cops are good and have poured their lives into protecting others, and they dont deserve to be held accountable for some rogue idiots actions. the individuals who’s actions are in question, and those who enabled those actions, which isnt the entire force, deserve the blame.

I’m a white, clean-cut graduate student with no criminal record who drives an unassuming, environmentally-friendly coche in excellent repair… what’s NOT to be calm about?

Cops find the decapitated, coke-smeared head of an obscenely underaged hooker in my passenger seat, they offer to shoot out Professor X’s tail light on his way home from church so they can stash it in his trunk while giving him a field sobriety test.

gregron… is just an annoyingly handsome bastard with the moustache of a Greek god.

I don’t care for Alex Jones and selling doomsday and NWO conspiricy, but his site does a pretty good job of bringing these type of stories to light if nothing else. There have to be several posts a week from around the country of policy abusing their power. The most current issue that is coming to light is that many states have made it a crime to record police. They have actually prosecuted people for violation of wire tapping laws for recording similar instances to the one above.

The case was tossed out by the judge and I had to pay nothing…but I still lost money because of missing work to deal with it…a job that actual helps people just like that cop is supposed to.

That is self regulation, IA is part of the same pay roll. Separate governing board, with continuing education and oversight.

Not Bob who used to be a traffic cop and he is kind of a dick, so he is transferred to IA cause nobody really likes him anyway, but we know he will not rat on us really cause he is still a cop also.

I have started a thread on here about my wife witnessing a cop assaulting a friend of ours, come to find out this is a corporation type police force. How can an police force have Inc. after its name?

my point was not to question how shitty your experience was, because yes that does suck, my point was the majority of people do not experience that. I realize that even one occurance is too many, most cops are good and dont deserve the widespread hate. disclaimer: i know you said you dont hate cops, im speaking of the many people that do

What we have here from other posters not getting it is the result of white privilege and ignorance. All you have to do is study some basic enforcement statistics to see that racism/classism do exists. For example Marijuana laws, white use marijuana something like 40 to 1 in comparison to the african american population but enforcement shows you are over 200% more likely to be busted if you are african american.

He IS a Seabrook cop that was off duty no less they just happen to be a corp also. My friend is white, port engineer and was leaving the gym at 6 in the morning. He actually followed my friend through 4 cities basically drove him off road and pummeled his face. The cops statement was that my friend was texting and driving erratic, even if he was (which he as not) how and the fuck does that deserve getting your face bashed in repeatedly? And before you say what did he do, my wife saw this because she was trapped behind his car since they left the gym at the same time. My friend was in shock and never lifted a hand or even cussed at the cop.

why would i ask what did he do??? obviously no one deserves that treatment, im confused though, the cop was he working in like a police subdivision or moonlighting on a security job? either way it is obviously unacceptable what happened to your friend

That was not addressed just to you, about ask what did he do? That was actually asked in the thread I made so I addressed it before somebody else can ask.

He is a cop, he was off duty in his own vehicle dressed in his uniform. The police force for Seabrook which is a city here outside of Houston is run/owned by a corporation not run by the city itself. My question to all was how and why is this even possible?

Everything is for sale in this country. Even more so in Texas, God Bless Rick Perry. Privatization is efficient and if you see a conflict of interest when applied to things like prisons, jails, or police you must be a communist.

I will remind my friend that he is a communist and the $4000 he has shelled out to fight his case is just part of capitalism and to get over it.
