Actually, it is pretty great.

It’s downright criminal. They should all be pulled over and have their tail lights checked.

Well, if I can spend a whole weekend doing nothing but watch US cops beat up guys that are not resisting that actually is quite telling.
Plus, having the advantage of not living in a country where cops do that regularly AND owing a passport I kind of know for a fact that what US cops deem standard procedure is way down the roads to a police state.
What makes your post really ingenuine is that you live in Japan and know that too.
Lets put this nonsense to rest. According to the National Police Misconduct Statistic and Reporting Project in 2010 there were 4861 misconduct reports involving 6613 LEO’s. Let’s generously say another 6000 LEO’s were involved in misconduct which was not reported at all putting the total at 12,613. With approximately 700,000 non federal LEO’s in the U.S. that means 1.8% were involved in misconduct. While all misconduct is reprehensible, those numbers hardly warrant the damnation of all LEO’s.

LOL!!!
Wait, so what if a number of those ended up with the DEATHS of civilians?
You are acting like “misconduct” equals the same as an employee at Wal-Mart showing up late or cussing out a patron.
Like I said “all misconduct is reprehensible” no matter the type. I didn’t “act” like anything. My argument still stands regardless of your reading comprehension fail.

Your argument doesn’t still stand. Police have a massive amount of POWER. It wouldn’t be much different than being this relaxed about some doctor killing patients. The entire general public would be after his head…but for some reason, cops get protected. They get PAID LEAVE when they kill people.
Your argument is shit because of the power invested in that line of work. A cop could literally kill me on the way home from work, make up the reason, and the majority of the time, get off for it unless there is GLARING evidence that he was at fault…like video.
Did you even read this thread? How dumb do you think the people you are speaking to are?

You’re right. We should just damn the ones that do it, the ones that are complicit in these acts, and the ones who rationalize it by the use of statistics.

Reality doesn’t make for fun activism. I haven’t a clue as to how anyone damns LEO’s, with those numbers. You even doubled the number of LEO’s, and still arrive at a 1.8%. Generalizations over 1.8%? Uh, ok, but we’d have to legitimize anti-black bigotry, as an example. There’s some depressing numbers along the lines of race. Numbers, heavier than 1.8%, for crying out loud.
In fact, let’s all post video of race x mob jumping race y, and declaring the argument over. Race X is bad. Baaaaad. Geeze.

Based on the feedback, if he’s reading my responses, he probably felt pretty safe trying to get that one past us.
I got a house full of windows that are in dire need of a good lickin. ![]()
Every LEO I know will admit that there are asshole cops, then again every attorney I know will admit they know asshole attorneys. Point is we all know there are assholes in the world, why are LEOs an exception?

Because it is rare that my lawyer can pull out a gun and kill me yet get away with it UNLESS a camera is present.
Need more reasons or is that good enough, Chief?

I don’t endorse either view, but isn’t he saying the same thing a lot of the other posters are saying, only about black people instead of police officers?
LOL!!!
Who knew being black was just like being part of an ORGANIZATION with one mission.
The issue people have with police is NOT just with the few bad apples. It is also with THE INSTITUTION that protects these people and hides them…which obviously means there may be some good cops…but they would also have to be turning a blind eye to the bad pones otherwise we wouldn’t be having this growing issue.
I do not know all black people.
All black people do not share the same mission.
All black people are not part of the same organization.
I represent no one but myself.
Please inform yourself.
EXACTLY. You always hear people say stuff like “Not all cops are bad, most of them are good people” well where are those good cops when one of their buddies is getting dirty? They’re turning a blind eye, which makes them just as bad. The institution protects the evil ones.
Prof X you must be a huge fan of Chubby Checker because you are the master of the twist. I clearly articulated in my post that the assertion many people made that because possibly up to 1.8% of LEO’s abuse the power they have then all LEO’s therefore are guilty of the same is ridiculous. I will say it once again since you don’t seem to understand…I don’t condone and find it reprehensible any abuse of power by any LEO, but 1.8% of bad apples does not spoil the bunch. If you have studies that show the incidence of abuse is higher then by all means present it.
