@usmccds423 @dt79

Anyone can clearly see that is not the case.

Your work let’s you talk to green boy but you can’t have a cocktail before lunch? That’s fucked.

I love working for a small company. 5 weeks vacation, ESOP, could probably get away with showing up mildly drunk every once in a while, no cunts working here, the list goes on.

I can only assume it’s because a bunch of women are in charge amirite??

Rotten bitches in HR, no doubt

You gonna tell me HR isn’t in fact the worst department?

They ruin everything, right. Remember when the boys could drink bourbon in the office back in the day? Delivered by that smokin hot secretary no doubt. The good ol days. I sure miss the 50s.

Praise Jesus, we agree on something.

Nobody is dancing here but you, even when your original posts are shown.

And to anyone who read my 2nd post in this thread and thought “hmmm maybe dt79’s just exaggerating”, here you go.

Maybe some, but the day may come when you need an HR department. I was quite pleased to let them deal with the psychopath instead of trying to navigate that on my own.

Statement: women coming out of nursing school making 60, and sometimes 70 and higher

Rebuttal: the national average for nurses is 44k

Facts: Median salary is 73, and according to glass door starting salary for many RNs is 60k

Now you guys want to dance around this that’s fine. I always said stick to the point of what I was trying to say, but ya wanted to focus on the numbers, and now it’s you and usmc playing the semantics card which is what @chaoshander made the thread about and you two demonstrated it beautifully.

You guys are something else but thank you.

That’s not how it played out. @anon50325502 has already rebutted and you’re still trying to spin the whole story Which is why I’m not playing this game with you.

No, it’s was like $52k when you filter for no experience ie right out of college, but at this point you’ve dug your heels in so what does it matter?

That’s not how it played out? his 44k median income for nurses is not completely off? it’s completely inaccurate in any way he meant it. If he meant starting salary, it’s off, if he meant national average it is off.

Now, if he wanted to talk about some certificate based salary fine but that is clearly not what was being talked about.

See, here’s the fucking point that goes over your head: instead of asking me to clarify or bringing up the numbers in a way we could look at it, in the original posts, you had a buddy make a claim, a totally inaccurate claim to the discussion at hand, and you all went with it, and focused on that to hammer me instead of actually discussing the points.

That’s exactly what OP is talking abut in this thread. This is what you guys do. Period. And now you have egg on your face.

Same thing with the ESPN argument just a few days ago… I said “ESPN is dying” everyone knows it has been having serious issues. It has laid off thousands of employees, major anchors, let go of their CEO, restructured completely… this is not something you do if business is well. Everyone KNOWS what is happening at ESPN. But instead of discussing it a link was posted about ratings lol. No discussion about it, no looking behind the scenes of what is happening, nope, it’s a link showing high ratings and therefore the network is booming. You guys are stupid or what?

@usmccds423

What else you wanna filter for USMC? seriously man this thread is about semantics lol. You want to look at every single metric possible in order to try and prove my original statement wrong because YOU couldn’t even do a two second google search decent enough to not come up with a horribly inaccurate number. I mean you took the fucking time to google where I just said something based on the women I knew getting into the field right out of college.

I had an idea what the median salary was, I wasn’t totally sure, but I knew it was up there. You took the time to look, and you got it totally wrong.

But keep dancing, I’m sure your buddies will dance with you to make you feel better.

It isn’t semantics, you used $60k+ to try and make your point. Its was versus a lower starting pay for men with “normal” (yet to be defined) degrees. The accuracy of the numbers matters in this case.

Had you said $50k and even $60k sometimes I wouldn’t have said a word, but $80k come on, dude. I know you see the difference you just don’t want to admit it.

I’ll start. I was wrong. Average pay for RNs is closer to $50-$55k. The $44k was for LPNs. My mistake.

Now you go.

*Not to mention, you ignored my point, which is ironic to say the least.

But there are women I know that started at 80k. It doesn’t matter what they did to get there, that’s not really what the discussion was about. We weren’t discussing salaries for nurses, if that was the discussion then ok, we had to be 100% accurate.

And this is the point of focusing on semantics . You guys keep doing this and focusing on that to discredit and derail conversation. I come in here open for dialogue, yeah I have a tendency for hyperbole, and I get a bit abrasive, but I’m not here to get pedantic as fuck.

there’s no need to hammer someone for a missed grammar mistake, or a number that may be off.

I like to be accurate when discussing topics. Sorry not sorry I don’t like to just throw shit out there to try and win internet points.

that’s fine, and next time you can bring that up no problem, and the discussion can be had about what the author of said statement was trying to say instead of a missed number or improper google search. it happens.

I like to be accurate when discussing topics. Sorry not sorry I don’t like to just throw shit out there to try and win internet points.

You made a general statement about nursing income and then made a general statement about earnings by men with “normal” degrees.

I know a dude that made over $100k straight out of college in a traditionally male dominated field. Should I have used that as an example to refute your point? No, that would be ludacris. If you’re going to generalize about a profession, an industry, or “women” you have to use general statistics like averages. It would make no sense to use anecdotes.

You obviously live in a higher cost of living area that isn’t representative of nursing as a whole.

Given that nurses is one of this cities main exports (3 huge nursing schools) and knowing quite a few who were made some great offers to go mainly to Florida for some reason, I have a hard time disagreeing with this.

May be a little exaggerated, but if you count signing bonuses and relocation costs, not far off.
