I am not on TRT, but I’ve been researching it and considering it for years. It seems like there’s always a downside to any sort of protocol:
Test + AI + HCG = Long term AI use is not recommended and causes problems in many users.
Test + HCG = Impossible to get properly dialled in over the long term - there’s also the issue of the desensitization theory regarding HCG.
Test solo = testicular shrinkage and reduced ejaculate volume over time
I would love to hop on T, but it seems like all the major protocols have deal breaking downsides. All I want is an ideal sex drive and massive loads long term.
Am I looking at this wrong? Does anybody have anecdotal evidence to the contrary? Is there an alternative protocol that I don’t know about?
Is there anyone you can point to (on this forum, on another form, or even anecdotally) who has had long term success with this sort of pulsatile T-replacement.
Are there any other options besides nasal application and troches?
If it truly doesn’t shut down HTPA axis, then why isn’t this more widely used? Is there a catch to it? Is it just not well known?
Neither of the three protocols you listed has any downside from my perspective. long term AI use causes problems? Unproven. Hard to dial in T+HCG? Harder, maybe, but certainly not impossible. Test only ball shrinkage? Depends, some guys see very little change.
If you’re hypogonadal and miserable because of it, then any one of those three options is better than the alternative.
I have been using hcg for the last three months in an effort to boost sperm. Have had no issues dialing it in. Don’t really feel any better or worse, but have been feeling great on trt. I did put in another 6lbs of muscle though lol
What’s this desensitization thing you’re taking about?
I’ve been on T cyp and inconsistent use of AI and have never experienced shrinkage or reduced volume. Increased drive and more consistent stronger erections, yes. Only on 100mg/wk. Soon will be at 150/wk, as I start lifting more and looking for increased benefit. So far so good.
