Sean Taylor Blasted

That’s a way to end a season. Bet Washington’s lovin’ havin’ Landry

We, in Washington, haven’t loved anyone on the roster for about 12 years…whenever it was Danny took over…

I personally don’t like Taylor as a player but I wouldn’t wish him to be freaking shot. Hopefully he recovers and is in good health shortly, playing football or not.

I’m a Redskins fan, and Taylor is a favorite player of mine. The guy always plays all out, and likes to hit. I didn’t know he about his legal troubles off the field.

Keeping a machete by the bed is pretty ghetto but not much different that my baseball bat, or .45 I guess.

Well…

Not sure if you guys read it or not but he died of the gunshot.

Being killed at 24 is a very sad thing, esp. since he turned his life around and just had a baby daughter.

Being from Washington I always liked to watch him play, even the late hits he would deliver.

I wouldn’t say he turned his life around as that’s what people that are close to him are expected to say. Still don’t think it’s right he died, though.

I don’t think it’s right that you have Bob “Did you ever suck dick for coke?” Saggot for your avatar

…also, it sucks that Taylor died

Washington, DC native here…rode the bandwagon back in the day…still cheer for them losers…and:

It sucks that Taylor died.

It sucks that he probably hadn’t really turned his life around.

It sucks that while Taylor was playing all out he spit on opposing players.

It sucks for his baby mommy and daughter.

It sucks that Bob Sagat didn’t take the bullet for him 20 years ago in some strange time-space-continuum type situation.

It sucks that professional athletes and sports in general can earn so much money while police, fire fighters, military and teachers survive on a pittance.

Someone pull out the soapbox before I fall off…damn shame about Taylor and everyone that’s impacted by this.

This is a very strange case - the facts reported by The Washington Post make it look very much like a hit.

Apparently his house in Miami was broken into last week and someone left a knife on his pillow in a Godfather-esque warning. So he went back to Miami for the dual purpose of getting his knee checked out and taking care of his situation. He, his fiancee and baby were sleeping in the house, and then someone broke in his house and was kicking their bedroom door. Taylor got a machete out from under the bed and went to check it out - then, before he even got out of his room, someone in the hallway shot twice at Taylor, hitting him once in the thigh and severing the femoral artery - and then ran away.

I thought this was a hit when I first heard the case. Rarely a suburb place gets hit twice in the same week.

Who shoots someone in the leg on a hit?

Trying to cripple and not kill?

Below the waist means no attempted murder charges if caught I believe. Very sad situation, you can still vote for him for the pro bowl though.

Poor choice of words for your title and your entire post – do us a favor and quit starting threads here.

RIP Sean Taylor.

Have any of you ever held a handgun, aimed it at a person, and pulled the trigger?

If you bother asking “Why would they shoot them in the leg” then you should understand that the action isn’t the same as knocking soda cans down with your dad’s .22 Cal in the backyard.

I doubt he was aiming for the leg.

RIP Sean Taylor

Fact: ST21 was a fearsome and hardest hitting safety in NFL.
(I’d past a youtube vid but NFL removed it).

Fact: Erratic defender with tendency for blown coverage, in 2006 led the league for missed tackles.

Fact: 24 is just way too young to die, for anyone.

Conclusion: Superman or not, you’re no match for a bullet. Next time intruders come knocking, call 911 and wear a protective cup.
