Screw Racism

This is really a fucked up thread. I thought it would be about how we all embrace each other since we have somthing in common. Of course I expected a few jokes (about all ethnicities - this is immature nation after all) but to see so much negativity makes me feel sorry for so many of you.

In an age where knowledge is so readily abundant how can you feel accomplished wallowing in ignorance (which I feel is the basis of racism along with greed).

How do you stop racism - start from within!!
Okay. You’re right.

When my kids applied to college, the bubble was “bi-racial”.
Here in Japan, bi-racial kids are considered “half.” :-(
My son is “half,” and Japanese are fascinated by this. They honestly have no clue how offensive it is. I take every single opportunity to inform them of this, and let them know that he is one whole human being. Indeed, being that he is both American and Japanese, we’re all “half,” compared to him.

The racial dynamic here is all sorts of different. It is both beneficial and incredibly demeaning to a white guy like me, but I’d sure rather be a white guy, or even a black guy (yes) than a Korean or Chinese here.

Did anyone else catch that DarkNinjaa and ProfX changed their avatars at almost the exact same time?

Is it racist that I noticed that?

Yes that’s so racist. You’re seriously pissing me off right now.

Apparently so since any mention of any group of white people and their individual actions is now racist…but blatantly saying the actions of a few black people represent the rest of us on the planet not so much.

For the record, if what Ninjaa wrote is racist, then so is the comment, “Most players in the NBA seem to be black”.

You have to love how logic breaks down in threads like this.

…and an “off topic” thanks to you. I appreciate that.

Maybe you are talking about a different comment, but I was joking about white players in the NBA. And the appropiate misquote would be “Pretty much all good NBA players are black”.

To be honest, I thought this thread COULD be funny from ALL sides (not just white and black), but I guess it won’t work.

Also, the discussion is going in cycles. “You said that all X are Y” “No, I said that X that have posted here are Y” “But in page 130 you said this” “But it was in answer of this” “But then you said that all X are Y”.

I wasn’t even talking about your post. I was making the comment that if any statement about any group of people and their race is now racist, then we can’t even have discussions anymore without offending someone.

I started that last Black History Month thread that went nearly all pages without this shit and it was funny. Everyone seemed to take it lightly. It is ONLY when someone jumps in with their “Oh, it’s all just a joke” shit with very racist comments that everyone else seems to ignore that turn into this.

It seems to be common place here for any black person who gets offended enough to say anything to then get jumped for it as if they are racist for noticing it.

That makes no sense.

This thread is now a prime example of that.

For years I got this crap and it only seems to be changing now because I am no longer seen as one of the only outspoken black people here.

Maybe it’d be best for me to stop this shit.

Ah ok.

I understand what you mean. You know, it’s like when you are a child and you play “war” with your buddies. Children take it “seriously”, shooting, crawling, hiding, dying, but in all in good fun. When it’s time to go home, fierce enemies become best friends and all pack up with a big smile in the face. But one day this kid comes and smacks an “enemy” and makes him cry. He defends himself saying it’s “just for fun”, but he just ruined the fun for the rest and nothing is the same again.

About what happened in this same thread, it’s usually hard to pick up when the jokes are not funny anymore if they are not in your direction. Like, if the “jokes” are starting to be very offensive against blacks, for me it can be hard to pick this up unless someone mentions it. Maybe that’s why some people tend to “scold” you when you say “That’s not funny anymore”, because we just don’t realize that the jokes and comments crossed the line. Something I will keep in mind next time.

It is. I’ll quit as well. What you wrote was clearly a statement about this board and not all white people on the planet…while the other poster’s comment was about how all black people are represented by a few. We can see how people react to both statements…and I am sure it is no surprise considering this is the usual response any time someone makes a point to identify what actual racism is.

This thread did have a decent discussion about cultural hatred and the difference between that and racism, so it isn’t a complete waste of time.

However, if I can make a thread about Black History month as a joke, then clearly the issue is NOT just that someone joked about black people but the very racist sentiments thrown in this thread against blacks as a whole people.

I agree…but the problem with that is, for someone to “scold” me would mean they believe they are above me.

If people actually gave a shit, they wouldn’t act like ANY black person who speaks out against racist remarks is “playing the race card” and is therefore racist themselves.

That shit got retarded in the 90’s…but it is apparently still internet viral.

I agree. But it doesn’t just happen with racism. If I defend homosexuals in a thread filled with homophobia, you can guess what I will be called, even if I’m heterosexual.

Ignorants always go for the easy way to attack someone. Why bother with arguments when you can perform a full scale ad hominem attack…

But anyways, I have nothing else to add to the thread. It was an interesting read overall.

Wait… I’m not done yet…

On the bright side, you can always blame the Jews. On this, everyone agrees.

Oh, fuck. Wait.

Here, in case you missed it:

If you have a problem with ignorance, then by all means, rail against ignorance! However, from your posts, it’s rather clear that you really only have a problem with white people who are ignorant and…wait for it…
Thirdly I don’t give a shit about what black people do to irk you. It’s your fucking problem. Fucking DEAL with it.
So, you’re holding white people to a higher standard of behavior than black people and you only “give a shit” about ignorance if it’s coming from a white person, making you…wait for it…a racist.

“White people” is a broad classifier, meaning that when you use that term, you are referring to white people in general. When you refer to what “white people” do, you are…wait for it…making generalizations. Like when you said:

Ouch! That hurt. Damn! Wham bam modafucka!

And THIS time I’m truly done with you.

DN OUT!

.

Haha this is actually ridiculous. I can’t believe people are actually arguing about who is the most oppressed. It’s almost like they are proud to be so discriminated against “the people in my country hate me more than the people in your country hate you!” This has nothing to do with race. If you are an outsider, then people will find any excuse to hate you.
