Scotland Is Not England

Why do Americans think my country is called England? It doesnt make sense, its like me calling the USA, “California”! California is just one of many states that make up the USA. Its the same here, England is just one state that makes up the UK, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland make up the rest of the UK. I live is Scotland (which should be independant!) which is in the UK. Thanks…

sorry, but it really gets under my skin when im watching an American tv programme and hearing people speak about Edinburgh in ENGLAND… aaaah!

Your metaphor and correlation sucks!
What you should have said is:
"…its like me calling New York, “California”! California and New York are just one of many states that make up the USA. "

It came off as comparing
apples: USA and UK
oranges: California and Scotland.

To answer the original question: Poor Education.

So how is the Queen doing these days?

Why? Either they are stupid or they know Scotland is not independent and they are needling you about it.

dunno how the queen is… nobody really cares except the americans… you guys can have her… and watch your tax money pay for her upkeep! she costs us a fortune

Our public school system sucks. No excuses. Too many iPods, not enough history / geography books.

The Kingdom of Scotland was an independent state until 1 May 1707, when the Acts of Union (despite widespread protest across Scotland)[5] resulted in a political union with the Kingdom of England to create the Kingdom of Great Britain.

They call it England for the same reason they call Hawaii the US.

wake up man - its called the United Kingdom or the UK, England is the state south of scotland. Only a few years ago Scotland was devolved, we built a brand new parliment building in Edinburgh (cost millions though!), we have our own law system which is seperate system to English law, we have a seperate education system to England.

But we are part of the UK (United Kingdom) - not United England - go look at an atlas numptey!

and its only the Americans that get mixed up and call our country England, UK if u dont mind…

You sure do get upset over some dumb shit.

How is the weather have you noticed anything ? you must be aware that Scotland

Scotland will not escape the impacts of climate change.

The world’s climate is already changing. Here in Scotland we are already seeing dramatic changes in our weather such as flooding and landslides.

Extreme weather events are set to increase as climate change worsens. Devastating flooding in Scotland will become twice as common over the next fifty years and one in twelve homes will be at risk of flooding.

The Scottish Parliament controls many policy areas that affect climate change. But many crucial powers also remain at Westminster

im dont denying global warming, but fact - when the likes of Dunnottar castle were being constructed, Scotland was an average 7c warmer than it is today and there wasnt cars driving about then.

My dads friend is works the Marine Research Lab in Aberdeen, there were grape vines growing in Southern England then, hence the street names in London; Vine Street etc… so…

just delusions you created for yourself!

I saw a program on the History channel about this. Actually i think it was about vikings, but they brought that up. They said that the english vines were growing like 200 miles further north than they can grow today.

It was the medieval warming period. The global warming alarmists are claiming it didn’t exist.

They also think Morocco is in the Middle East (Hedo and some others consistently make that mistake).

My but you are a whiny bitch.

I say YOU are from the Middle East because I doubt anything you write…including your claim you are from Morocco. You may have went to school there, on the Saudi dole, but that’s about it.

Why do you think you are smarter then everyone when most of the posters on T-Nation think you are a fool?
