“More and more prominent scientists continue to speak out and dissent from man made global warming. In June, the Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever, declared himself a ??skeptic?? and said ??global warming has become a new religion.?? Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology also dissented in 2008. ??As a scientist I remain skeptical?? of climate fears, Dr. Simpson said in February of this year. In June, a top UN IPCC Japanese Scientist, Dr. Kiminori Itoh, turned on the IPCC and called man-made global warming fears the ??worst scientific scandal in the history.?? In addition, more evidence of challenges to global warming occurred when two top hurricane scientists announced they were reconsidering their views on global warming and hurricanes.”
Environmentalism is just another power grab by the anti-industrial revolution elite.

True but with special protection provided by the first amendment they have special privileges not allotted to other corporations. This is because our founding fathers expected the press to report and let us decide. Unfortunately they have become political activists in too many cases.
They are not meeting their responsibilites to the American people.

Up to the point they lose credibility and people stop watching. Hm… I wonder why Fox News is the most popular network…[/quote]
It says something about the American people alright.

That they are less gullible than the Europeans who are buying into this GW crap hook line and sinker while the rest of the world takes advantage.
The beauty of living in a capitalistic society is that we have many options to choose from to get our news and information. Stay away from government regulated mediums like TV and radio.

What medium isn’t regulated to some extent?
The internet - No quality control. Any asshat can write about global warming, even if s/he has no credentials (regardless of their stance, a physicists comments on GW mean jack shit to me unless they can give a logical tie in to their field of study).
The papers - Few are truly unbiased. I usually buy both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal to get a broad view of things.
Weekly mags - Almost all are horribly biased or focused around celebrity gossip and/or porn.
Monthly mags - See weekly mags.
Bi-annual/Annual mags - These are usually good. Foreign Affairs has a lot of great stuff, usually almost entirely unbiased in the editorial sense (as long as you pay attention to who wrote what). Not exactly news however.

And fact checking something some random asshat says is just as easy thanks to online encyclopedias and search engines. That’s the same line of BS teachers used to rant about constantly whenever we had to do research, they’d rant how we should use the school’s britannica accounts instead of just googling it. Googling it would turn up the same quality, and often much more information much quicker, and all of it was as easily fact checked as it was found.
American Conservative is a very good magazine. Not unbiased in any sense, but figured I’d plug them real quick

The internets.
There is nothing wrong with honest bias. The point being that one can be biased and still present fact regardless of the bias. The more choices we have the better off we are.
I am less trusting of media corporations that require permission from the government to transmit content.
Freedom of speech and press can only occur with privately owned means.
If a MSM outlet lies or deceives, they get their heads handed to them eventually. Look what happened to CBS and Dan Rather. How many people watch CBS news at all? Then they hire someone who made her fame by being a cute ‘girly-girl’ as news anchor. Who the hell is actually running (down) that asylum?
If Fox News consistently slants the news, then eventually they will also go the way of CBS. They can fight other networks but they can’t fight reality. It’ll win.
