All, I just got some blood work back(see attached) and for the last 2 round of blood work my creatine level was (1.34 mg/dl) up from 1.19. In addition my LDL cholesterol is 131mg/dl ish for the last 2 round of labs (was 87 prior). In addition my triglicerides 3-4 blood works ago went from about 60mg/dl to 98. I feel like my free test was high due to starting dhea as my prior level of dhea 250 ug/dl ( with a free test of 22pg/ml)and after supplementation of dhea it is at 395 and my free test is (32.2 pg/ml. My dosage has been the same for the last 1.25 years 2 clicks (200 mg/ml) of test cream 1 click on scrotum and the other on the forearms.
With all the above considered what do you think might be happening to me as I am getting scared I am harming myself with treatment. I am terrified that I might have to get off to restore some of these blood levels to healthier numbers, but I have already been on treatment for 2 years (started at 28) and don’t know how long it would take to get my nautral level back up (I am not on hcg btw). Also to anyone who got off how much did your gym lifts drop once you stopped treatment? Do you all think the proper move is to stop treatment or is there other options I should consider first?
TRT has lowered my triglycerides from 389 into the normal ranges, if yours increased it’s because of your diet or something else.
TRT is testosterone, something your body needs to function normally. It’s true that TRT can cause a slight imbalance of LDL, but that’s a good trade off compared to all the other dreadful heath problems low-T brings your way.
High creatine can be caused by dehydration, kidney problems and building muscle.
The last time I visited your thread you were complaining of no morning wood, low sex drive, high body fat etc. and were at the end of your rope.
You were struggling for 7 years and you want to return to this state because of a little elevation in creatine and a slight imbalance of LDL and an elevation in triglycerides with the latter not being caused by TRT.
Stopping TRT just seems a bit extreme.
If you really want to harm your health, stop TRT and revisit your labs, your health in 10-20 years from now.
Try Ezetimibe for the lipids, I wouldn’t worry about the creatinine that can be elevated in guys that workout. Overall it looks like the cream is working for you.
When did you get the labs in relation to your last cream dose?
If you are fairly muscular or training hard, this test isn’t very useful for kidney evaluation. I was once worried about kidneys because of this test. Look into the Cystatin C test and the eGFR that uses Cystatin C. That test is better for muscular people. Your doctor should be able to order that test instead.
Might want to lower those and increase intake of unsaturated fats. I’d start there. It is recommended that dietary saturated fat intake be less than 10% of your caloric intake.
I administer the cream every morning and labs were taken before my next dose ( my low point). With that said do you think my t level is too high ? On my last labs with the same dose my total T was 527 and free was 22… the only difference I can see is I added dhea which may of boosted my free T (doc say it can lower shbg). Also, I was wondering if anyone has seen a coralation between staring an ssri (lexapro) and certin labs taking a turn for the worse as my labs seemed to get worse after starting one?
Regarding your Free T being too elevated, would it hurt to decrease the dosage? You have such a low SHBG that it seems your body makes very good use of any bit of testosterone you put in !!
How about stopping with DHEA or decrease it´s dosage to half ?
