Scalise Shot at Baseball Practice

Would you also agree that no President deserves the kind of treatment and vile violent words that were directed at Obama?

Right and they are winding up some of these border line nut cases a little too tight. Time to cut back on the anti Trump rhetoric. I am not suggesting that anyone stop attacking his policies. He’s free game just as Obama was. And there is plenty of policy issues to critique. But the far left needs to cut back on hating the man and using hateful, violent words to get their point across.

Edit

Cognitive dissonance thy name is Zeb. No one deserves to be shot at no one should have Trump or Obama hung in effigy.

Luckily no one is saying anything like that despite your efforts to go down that road in this thread. It was bound to happen. Only a matter of time before someone in this thread thought here is a good reason to say the team I cheerlead for doesn’t do this. Here’s a good time to throw at the other team.

I did.

Because that is the psychology at work. They did this, They did that…

Shoot Them.

No one attacks the guy with a wife and three kids. People attack They, Them.

H, if you can’t see the bitter hatred that the far left, Hollywood and many within the system have for Trump, and how it’s been expressed, then I don’t know what to tell you. If you can’t see the nasty riots launched by the left after Trump won, the viscious way Hollywood has treated Trump. The general violent words and pictures that have been used …hey I guess we have nothing more to say.

I’m sure we don’t. You can’t read what I’m saying and you won’t pretend the right has violence issues as well. And you never once in 8 years thought the anti-Obama rhetoric was worth toning down. The images of him hanging in effigy were never called out by you on this forum.

But maybe you missed me saying we are better off for the guy being dead and that no President deserves this. You ignored that. You ignored me saying our discourse is gross. You gloss over anything that doesn’t fit your arguments and twist.

Just keep in mind not one time did you call out the right. Not once

I’m sure Zeb called out the right when people started buying flags of Obama on a noose and hanging it on their porches.

Right? @zeb1

As I said I think Obama and Trumps poliices both deserve to be critiqued as harsly as anyone would like. But the line is crossed when the words are agaisnt the man in a violent fashhion. Certainly you agree with that.

And you are correct I won’t “pretend” that the right had nearly the vitriol for Obama that the left has for Trump.

Come on now all you have to do is use your eye’s and the good sense that God gave you to realize this.

  1. Where were the violent riots when Obama won?

  2. Where were the lines of celebrities cursing and threatening violence against Obama when he won?

  3. Name a failed republican candidate for President who spoke out as harshly as Hillary Clinton did against Trump as she joined “the resistance”?

Seriously H…I am not saying there is never any violence or harsh words on the right but there is absolutely no comparison to what the left has done so far.

Zeb has tons of posts and tons of personalities. He is going to come back with so many examples of him saying the right should work with Obama. So many examples of him denouncing people hanging Obama in effigy. I think he went nuts when Fox kept Nugent on air over and over and said I can’t see how a news channel could air someone who said those disgusting things.

You are going to look silly when you see that long history of him calling out both sides on this issue. Just you wait!

I will consider that a very low blow and it surprises me coming from you as you are normally a reasonable person.

That is actually sickening. And if I ever saw such behavior I would indeed call the person out. And it would be in person face to face!

I don’t hold with such behavior and I never have.

In fact, if you recall I would make fun of those who said Obama was not born in America. But…we are way off course now. You know what they say. If you can’t win the argument attack the man.

Good Job.

I was being sincere. Thank you for not taking my words at face value and assume I was demeaning you. It doesn’t scream from the mountain about your character.

Nope, glad they didn’t work with Obama his policies were bad for the country. And attacking me personally does not wiin you this debate.

But trying to answer the three examples above might get you started in the right direction. Keep it civil H. Facts are facts

pfury just stop it really. I was having a discussion and never one time took it to a personal level with ED, H or you until both of you (not ED)…first started getting personal with me because you guys cannot stand the fact that I am correct and the left is out of control.

Here is what you said by the way:

"I’m sure Zeb called out the right when people started buying flags of Obama on a noose and hanging it on their porches.

Right?"

How does one take such talk?

Let’s stop now.

Which is why rhetoric matters

I genuinely don’t care how you take such talk. You misinterpreting my words does nothing to the original intent. We’ve had prior conversations about how you didn’t support the Obama = foreign muslim talk before, so naturally I assumed you were also not in favor of Obama hanging from flags.

Your lack of reading comprehension and thinking everyone is out to get you, when I’ve personally agreed with you on a decent number of topics, is embarrassing.

So you said no President deserves vile violent words but you don’t have a single example of you calling it out against the President for the last 8 years?

Not even one? Shit you have billions of posts. Not even one?

I guess it didn’t bother you then. Boy letters sure do change how you feel about things.

H, I did not think Obama was a good President. But, I never reached down the way that many on the left have toward Trump.

As for you, how many times have you attacked Trump personally instead of his policies?

So you don’t have an example? And you didn’t read my first link?

Lots of chances in 8 years and not a one

pfury,

You are right and I owe you an apology. I did read that wrong. I have been attacked personally (right here on this thread and others on prior occasions) and assumed you had begun doing that.

I am sorry and hope that you will forgive my misreading of your post.

By the way I am dyslexic …and hate to admit it…but it is what it is. That isn’t the reason that I reacted as I did…that’s just one more of my faults.

Mistakes happen. No big deal.

As to your point that this increased hate speech is somehow new, or has somehow escalated, all that’s really changed is media exposure. Plenty of people were calling for Obama to be shot, hung, etcetcetc. Were they celebrities? Not for the most part. Does that matter even a little? Not IMO.

This isn’t the “lefts” fault any more than it’s the “rights” fault when it happened under Obama. We’re all free to make up our own minds and we’re all responsible for our own actions. Hard stop. 100% hard stop. Anything further only stands to make excuses for these morons with guns while we pretend like the blame doesn’t solely rest with them.

Either we’re responsible for our actions, or we aren’t. In the same way that I don’t blame Rand Paul if he gets a wackjob taking his tweet seriously, I don’t blame Kathy for this act of violence. I blame the person that carried out the crime.
