I have never been able to stand the guy.
I will never, never forgive Hollywood for casting him as Lestat in Interview With the Vampire. I know Lestat, I have spent many, many hours with Lestat and Tom Cruise could never, ever be Lestat.
He is a horrible actor that always seems to be screaming “look, I’m acting”. He is completely unbelievable in any role role he plays.
I don’t find him attractive. I don’t think he is particularly masculine. He’s another short hollywood runt. Fuck, I could take him. I don’t understand why they keep casting him in these action movie roles.
Count me in TC, I’m glad you and I finally see eye to eye on something.

I know, I know. I had read all the Anne Rice books and had a very much different idea of what Lestat should be.
And while I may never get a chance to prove it, I’m pretty sure you and I would get along just fine.

LOL! Tom Cruise is an idiot but I will be seeing MI3. I mean, there are explosions and shit…and breasts!
breasts? I don’t want to see Tom Cruise take his shirt off.
Collateral was a good flick though.
DB
LOL…and yes, Collateral was very good. He fit the role of the bad guy you could hate.
I agree, and ironically, he was meant to be someone who was a bit of a jerk in war of the worlds, too, and he was.
I didn’t mind WoTW but seems a lot of people didn’t like it.
I know a few people who don’t see Tom Cruise movies now because of his idiotness over scientology … I don’t fully agree with them boycotting him, but it is happening, maybe he won’t be in so many movies in the future.
I don’t think he is a great actor but he has been a drawcard for the $$$ and that is why he is all over the place. Why he was a drawcard I have no idea.

Ok now the most recent talk on this board regarding Tom Cruise was him flexing his muscles (hehe couldn’t help myself) in regards to that South Park episode, essentially stopping people who wish to see that episode from seeing it.
Now in retaliation to this, your plan is to create a survey so long that Viacom stops people who wish to See Tom Cruise in a movie…from seeing it.
Now as a libertarian I may take freedom a little bit more seriously than the rest of you, but are you fucking out of your mind. Never before in the history of the world has the phrase ‘two wrongs don’t make a right’ ever been more relevant.
Never before in the history of the world has someone failed so miserably in realizing that we’re just having some fun here and don’t really expect to influence a multi-billion dollar entertainment giant to such a degree that they’d can one of the most bankable men in Hollywood.

Wow my first reply from TC, I feel like a giggling school girl.
I have two things to say.
1, It’s not the outcome that matters it’s the sentiment.
2, I am aware that I am taking it too seriously and I am comfortable with that.
(I realize that this is at least partially a joke, but I honestly think it is a great idea. I am down for a total boycott of any and all of those Scientology wackos.
I also realize that Scientology is not the entire reason for this thread. Sorry for going off on this tangent.)

I hope you can go without TV, films, and other non-periodical media.
In the spirit of the sponsor a vegetarian idea, every time Tom Cruise releases a movie I’ll see 3 other movies with ANYONE ELSE AT ALL starring in it. Jack Nicholson, if possible, but I’ll take whatever’s available. If you hate Tom Cruise, the best way to shut him up is to vote with your dollars.
I’m also boycotting Jackie Chan, now that he’s got his own infomercial exercise gadget.
Jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch really did wonders for him in terms of shaking the fruitcake label. That plus the fact he’s insinuated he knows everything in the world about mental illness really pisses me off. A good friend of mine once said, “People know about 3% of what they think they know.” Case and point, Mr. Katie Holmes.

Funny you should say this. I was just thinking the other day about how I never saw “War of the Worlds” simply because he was in it. I loved the original too.
How he’s changed is unbelievable. This is not the Top Gun Cruise that we once knew.
Its a shame, because he is a great actor. But I can’t stomach him anymore.
