Loved the first two, if this one follows the same formula while remaining somewhat creative it should be awesome.
Man, I need to see Saw II.

2nd one was TERRIBLE. Had a good beginning and a well done ending. The middle hour was complete garbage.
Lets hope this one is better.

I thought it was slightly better than garbage. Frankie G (I think that’s what his name is), the bigger dude, helped save some of those scenes. they needed someone crazy in the house with them. I agree it could have been better…but at least they acted better than the doctor in the original.
They just don’t make em like they used to…sigh.
Other than the Saw movies and Wolf Creek, I can’t even remember the last good horror flick to come out in the past 10-15 years. Long gone are the days of The Exorcist, Omen, Salem’s Lot, Shining, et al. I can’t believe how horribly bad the majority of horror movies are anymore!

The second one was definitely a little slow in parts, but I was entertained. I like these movies because they make me wonder whether I could do some of that shit if my life was on the line. Could I crawl through fire? Could I jump in a pit of syringes? Could I cut out my own eyeball? I like the idea that life is precious and should be fought for, and it’s interesting to me to think about the lengths that I would go to in order to save my own ass.

Cary Elwes definitely over acted. I dont think he enjoyed making the movie at all.
I like Frankie G. I was PO’d that his Fox TV show got cancelled so quickly.

The Grudge?
The Ring (only the first)?

I heard Wolf Creek was a massive POS (under the Worst Movies thread, no less). What did you like so much about it?
I like to make up my own mind, but I’ve brought so many dogs home from Blockbuster that “looked cool” and wound up “sucking ass”, that I’m open for insight into some good horror flicks.

Yeah, the kind of school you ride to on the short bus…

Along with the two I mentioned above, The Dawn of The Dead remake is probably my favorite horror movie in a very long time. Aside from Event Horizon, I don’t think I’ve seen any of them more times than that one.
I know a lot of people I know said The Grudge was terrible and I went in with that attitude bias. Thing is, after I was done watching it, I was freaked the hell out.
Saw, well, I was afraid to walk back in the dark out after I was done seeing that.

There are people who will say EVERY movie is terrible.
I guess movies that are based on true stories freak me out…hence, Wolf Creek’s recommendation.
Here’s one that’s either a “loved it” or “hated it”…Blair Witch Project?
I saw the late show when it came out, and when I walked out of the theater around 12:30 and there was a massive storm out. I walked in the back door when I got home and the screen door slammed shut…I didn’t sleep almost all night.
I’m guessing most of you thought it was gay, but I liked it the first time.
Event Horizon was good. Seven also, although it’s probably more of a thriller than pure horror.
I thought the first two were decent, but just decent. The ring [the first one] is the only good original horror flick to come along in awhile. Whoever said the Grudge was good should be ashamed of themselves.
I like both saw one and two. I’m pumped for the third.
Another new horror movie that is (I havent seen yet, but I’ve heard from alot of people) that is really scary is “the hills have eyes.” Apparently, the unrated version is that much scarier.
grudge was HORRIBLE.

I’d say it’s more entertaining than scary. I wasn’t really frightened at all watching that, and I really let myself get absorbed into movies for the sake of experiencing what you’re supposed to from watching it.
I didn’t see the unrated version, as I saw it in the theater, but the primary thing I remember is just being annoyed with how stupid the characters were.

Can you name any characters in horror movie as being smart? They always like to venture off somewhere alone when they know they shouldn’t, always fucking trip up on something and don’t they know by now that “it” is behind them?? Oh one more thing, they never give a fucking beatdown to the “it”, they hit it once, knock it down and runs away instead of finishing the job. Soooooo annnoooyiiiing!!!
