SARIN NERVE GAS

Posted on our friendly liberal network CNN tonight.

"WASHINGTON (CNN) – An artillery shell used in a roadside bomb in Baghdad did contain the nerve agent sarin as originally thought, U.S. officials confirmed Tuesday.

Laboratory tests confirmed initial findings from field tests that suggested the chemical agent was in the shell, which was found on May 15 and exploded two days later.

Two soldiers suffered minor health problems and were treated for possible exposure to sarin after the shell exploded before it could be disarmed.

The 155-mm artillery shell was designed to mix two inert chemicals when fired from a cannon to produce sarin, and military officials said it was ineffective when rigged as a roadside bomb.

Tests do not show how old the nerve agent was.

In 1990, Iraq admitted to the United Nations that it had built some sarin gas artillery shells – prototypes that it insisted had all been destroyed during testing.

When the shell was found near the Baghdad Airport, U.S. Brig. Gen. Mark Kimmitt said the artillery round was of an old style that Saddam Hussein’s regime had declared it no longer possessed after the Persian Gulf War"

Sarin Nerve Gas=Saddam Shell=Saddam not telling U.N. of it’s existence=George Bush Right All Along=All of you who called him a liar, should publically kiss his ass.

Anyone want to claim there isn’t a stockpile of this waiting to be found?
For all of you twirps who are going to say such things as: “Well the threat wasn’t imminent” or “One shell is not WMD,” please read the end of the article to see that we found a mustard gas shell in early May. Start adding up all the munitions Saddam said he didn’t possess, and we have a bingo!!! Common sense has been validated.

Can’t wait until November!!! Looking forward to another four years of George W. Bush!!!

Jeff

Well said Jeff!

Go W '04!!

Sarin gas is made out of castor beans. You should be able to get a whole bunch at any feed store.

Mustard gas is World War One technology.

Thank god they found this dud shell. Now that we’ve got Saddam’s stockpile of WMD we can start evacuating.

I hope Bush uses this dud shell as a rationale for the invasion, so that he will become an even bigger laughing stock.

It’s hard for me to believe anything this administartion says any more, they have lied to the public so many times over the past year. From Jessica Lynch supposedly fighting to last bullet, to the recent prison abuse being the fault of 7 low-level perverts, the administration has no problem lying to advance their agenda. So you’ll have to excuse me if I’m not too excited about this puny amount of expired sarin left over from the first Gulf war.

Ok, everybody get ready for chemical warfare! Everybody wear masks! Yes, 2 to 5 kg’s of sarin gas is worth the lives of thousands of innocent civilians, american soldiers, billions of dollars and the EVER GROWING HATRED TOWARDS THE US! Go Bush!
I guess the huge 5 kg stockpile of WMD’s was worth it…

k.

Wow, what complex and modern technology! Is this what is known as a “mobile laboratory”? Hahahahaha. What a maroon.

Yes Kike…getting rid of the possiblities of chemical warfare…a murdering dictator…these things are ALL worth it!
And this is coming from a military man! who may yet still go over!

way to rationalize, lump. how about the actual two chemicals in the shell? also made from beans and drano? and the shell? and the housing? and the mixing mechanism? all made in the sink and with Craftsman ™ tools? What did you think, we would find a giant neon sign pointing to fat man and little boy?

G-dubya was right. That dumb-ass Texan who speaks like he just fell off a turnip truck. That simple minded Yale grad with a Harvard MBA - what an idiot.

I can’t imagine being as smart as the elite left want to think they are, and yet time after time, turn after turn getting bested by a Texas dumbass.

Now that we have proof of WMD’s, as well as proof that Sadaam willfully disobeyed the U.N resolutions, the best the liberal ant-war geniuses can come up with is to marginalize the type of chemical agents found?

Ask the families of the murdered Kurds if Sarin gas was as benign as you guys are making it sound. Or better yet, go take a big whiff of Mustard gas and then report back about it being an outdated WWI technology.

RainJack
Just wondering if you knew that when that Kurdish village was gassed in the 80’s, the one that they always show footage of, Good ol Saddam was our friend at that time cuz he was invading Iran!

In fact my friend we supplied him with chemical weapons at that time. Thats why there was not a big deal made of it 25 yrs ago, but such a big one made now by the current administraion.

“Sarin Nerve Gas=Saddam Shell=Saddam not telling U.N. of it’s existence=George Bush Right All Along=All of you who called him a liar, should publically kiss his ass.”

–>That D that you got in logic does not count as passing…

Elk…times change…allies change. Its the way of the world bro. Any modern T-men knows this.

JeffR, and others - this is a post of mine from the Nerve Gas thread. It was entirely ignored on that thread, perhaps you’ll find it relevant now:

"Look, regarding weapons, I think all of the talk here has missed the crux of the issue. I believe it is this:
The strength of the White House’s conviction when they declared Iraq an immediate threat because of their possession of WMDs was such that the WMDs should have been found nearly immediately.

If they were unsure about the information - which they were certainly AT LEAST UNSURE - they should not have presented their information as such an undisputible fact.

Truly is simple as that. If we find them now, it does not change the fact that the WH misrepresented CRUCIAL info to us."

Iraq was invading Iran and Sadaam happened to gas his own people? Is that what all the mass graves are - collateral damage from his war with Iran? I think not. He was a cold blooded killer, despite the antiwar folks best efforts to distract us by blaming the U.S.

The fact remains - we found proof of chemical agents. Sadaam said those weapons had been destroyed in accordance with UN resolutions. He lied.

The weapons we found were not U.S. produced munitions, but ones designed and manufactured by the Iraqis.

The agruments you use are as old as the war itself - and regardless of the smoke and mirror logic you and your sandal-wearing cohorts use, Dumb-ass George is still right.

Another fact remains -

I read an article today that was hilarious. It made some great points but then it said that most liberals wouldn’t believe the Iraq al queda connection unless the saw a picture of saddam giving a publishers clearing house size check to bin laden. Priceless!

Oh get real. Everybody knew that there must be one or two lying around somewhere. That is not why the war was started.

I guess the American military would never lose an item or have a soldier declare some clips as expended and end up with a couple rounds extra.

To say the war is justified because of one or two odd lost shells is stupid. Everybody knew there would be one or two lying around.

What was important, and what was stressed, was things like mobile laboratories, lauching mechanisms, chemical processing facilities, and so on and so on.

When you find a warehouse of this shit I’ll be happy to admit the administration (as if Bush knows anything personally) got the call right. Until then, this is extreme reaching.

My god… do they have knives in Iraq? They could train how to use knives, ship terrorists into the states and then knife everybody. Bomb them now!!!

Rainjack
Don’t make fun of my sandals!
PtrDr
So, tomorrow we could be flinging nukes at England!
Don’t you think it was kinda funny how Bush was calling the despised pussy French President to try and wrangle up some help after he drug them through the mud!

Vegita
You slippery little verbal eel! You have made it very clear you think we liberals are pacified and misguided. Since, you are such a staunch supporter of this fight, I will ask you like I used to ask MRbuffpants, why don’t you enlist, put your shoulder to the grindstone and help us wipe out the Iraqi terrorists? I know from past comments you have made that you are no pacifist, so get your rifle and get to work!

vroom - Thank you for making my point for me. Old arguments, excuses, and even more excuses does not prove the president wrong - despite your best efforts. We found chemical agents. Period.

Did we find everything we thought was there? no not yet. Was there ever a time limit on finding WMD’s? Don’t think so. The anti-war crowd’s impatience is getting a little played out.

This war is not a 60-minute tv drama where the criminals are caught, and the victims are all ok, and the evidence is found in an airport locker.

The anti-war/anti-Bush crowd will never be behind the war effort until someone else is leading the fight.

That’s funny vroom. I don’t think any of the U.N. resolutions against Saddam Hussein mentioned stockpiles of weapons. But feel free to check for yourself:

As it happens, the burden of proof to demonstrate that he did NOT have weapons rested upon Saddam. Not only did he not do so, he kicked out the weapons inspectors.

WHy? I don’t pretend to know. I also don’t pretend to know whether the WMD Saddam was documented to possess – [note that NO ONE argued against the Iraq War pre-invasion on the basis that Saddam had no weapons - Find me one example of such from any reputable source and I will buy you a beer] – were buried, destroyed, shipped to Syria, or otherwise disposed of. But I really don’t think anyone else should pretend they didn’t ever exist, or that no one else thought Iraq possessed them and so Bush just marched in there against a chorus that was proclaiming the lack of WMD.

"Oh get real. Everybody knew that there must be one or two lying around somewhere. That is not why the war was started. "

There were 550 of those shells unaccounted for by Saddam. 550 shells with between two and five liters of sarin each.
