Elk…live in France if you love them so much. Me?..I’ll keep my alliances right here in the good ol USA!
Oh…the French had huge financial interests in Iraq. Any T-man should know this by now.
OH…wait…maybe you watch CNN for your news. Its a great place to hear Larry King ask a UN secretary what color socks he wears!
PtrDr
I admire your patriotism, but please try and see the shades of grey! You almost sound like a goosestepping ss soldier! I could honestly give a shit about the French. Do I think they have their own agenda’s? You bet! just like every other country on the planet does including us!
I don’t enlist because it is not calling me right now, Doesn’t mean I won’t some day. Like I said before I do like me a good argument, and do have somewhat of an opinion on politics. But my real passion is golf, so I have to go with that as much as I can right now.
Also, I make a positive impact everyday in whatever I do so I definately do my part. Be Good!
Guys, guys, calm down.
Didn’t you hear me say it? When that warehouse of WMD finally shows up, I’ll be happy to admit the administration was correct. What more do you want?
Until then, the reason the public was sold on the war is still missing. While there is no time limit, I think a year or so might just do it.
Hurry up, get your ass over there and go find them man. They have to be there somewhere!!! Anyhow, unlike some, I’m not going to shit my pants and cry myself to sleep because Saddam had five litres of Sarin that he may or may not have been aware of.
Breathe in… breathe out… repeat. A bigger crisis in my life right now is the fact my gas tank is nearly empty and I have to mortgage my house to fill it back up.
So remember, to sum it all up, if you find the big stockpile of WMD or the factory that makes WMD in Iraq and it isn’t being imported by terrorists from somewhere else, then holy shit, I will gladly proclaim moron boy (that would be Bush) was right.
Vegita
Maybe its just me and where I come from, but if your gonna talk it you should walk it.
You keep putting up posts that infer people against the war don’t know what’s going on, or their weak, or pacifists.
For all your talk, what are you doing? your 25 yrs. old, able bodied, a T-man. How far will you go to back your position up?
There are recruiting stations in every major city.
I have a position on a lot of things, I can’t act out all of them. I also tell people that I will make it to the PGA tour. That is where my love is right now so in essence I am trying to walk the walk. I don’t think this disqualifies me from debating politics with you though now does it? ![]()
On a side note elky me boy, you seem to wear your service to our country rather loudly. Which I am not saying is a bad thing, I am very proud of you. You do seem to like to imply that since you have served somehow you have a better stance or maybe not better but a more viable stance on things dealing with war, the military, security etc… Hence the several times you have stated for someone to serve if they thought the war was so right.
Actually Elk from my point of view this seems to be your only negative debating tactic. I Generally can’t wait to read what you have posted. Anyways there’s my pet peeve for ya!
Keep it real brother!
Elk, vroom, Lumpy,
I’ve got a theory. Since George Bush Senior “bought” George W.'s exemption from active duty in Vietnam, bought his way into Harvard and Yale, bought the military off in order to give him excellent marks as a pilot, bought the Texas Rangers for him, bought the Texas Governership for him (twice: By the way the only time in 125 years there has been a Governor reelected), bought every vote in the 2000 election, bought his answers to the three debates with algore, paid off Katherine Harris/the Supreme Court for enforcing the law: PERHAPS George Senior bought all the munitions, mustard and sarin gas shells we have found in Iraq. He’s turning 80 this month. Maybe it’s his gift to his son for his birthday. When he’s skydiving he will probably yell something like, “I bought WMD because Saddam obviously didn’t have any. He’s a nice man.”
That or the sarin and mustard gas shells were Bigfoot’s toxic turds.
These are my two leading theories.
Jeff
Well Veggy my boy,
It just seems to me that many that talk tuff of war and stuff, aint the ones carrying the load! PtrDr, Montrose, RangerTab, not included. I may not agree with them, but by god their money is where their mouth is. Well, I guess the PGA tour needs you more then your fellow Americans in Iraq. Go golf it up tiger!
vroom - you are a master subject switcher.
I know what’s coming, but I’ll serve you up a nice, fat hanging curve-ball…How is the price of gasoline g-dub’s fault?
Is it the fuel taxes?..no wait, that was the democrat’s idea. Is it because we’re not drilling in ANWAR?..no, wait that’s the dems again. Is it all the EPA regs that have to be complied with, therby adding costs at the pump? no, wait the dems again.
Tell me how Bush is to blame for the gas prices - must be the damn tax cuts that favor the rich. Or maybe it’s because he’s just so freakin’ stupid that gas prices went up all by themself.
Jeff, why don’t you wait until you actually have something to say?
JeffR
You may be onto something! By the way who’s bringing the chips to our Kerry victory party?
Rainman, the gas price complaint is a non-issue in my post bro. I’m simply trying to say I have real issues to deal with – Sarin gas being lobbed in my living room is not one of them.
Heh, I think you give me too much credit. I’m saying less than you think I am… ![]()
vroom - that’s what happens to me when I get all hopped up on chicken breasts and green tea - I tend to get a little trigger happy ![]()
PtrDr, I respect what you do for your country, but I still don’t agree with the war.
Vroom, well said.
k.
I have an idea…
Why doesn’t the US just declare war on itself? It is the most dangerous country in the world right now, and without question, is well-equipped with WMD’s. Oh, wait a minute, I guess they’d have to admit their hypocrisy then, eh?
I wish the US would just stay the hell on its own friggin’ continent without arriving uninvited to every conflict in the world (where there is a significant financial or political interest to the West) and pretend to play referee.
Nobody is fooled by these gestures. The war crimes committed by the Americans are just as bad as those from any other so-called “bad/evil/terrorist” nation.
I’m going to retreat to the tundra now and start re-stocking my bomb shelter.
I’m determined to get a response to this – why won’t you acknowledge this point???
"Look, regarding weapons, I think all of the talk here has missed the crux of the issue. I believe it is this:
The strength of the White House’s conviction when they declared Iraq an immediate threat because of their possession of WMDs was such that the WMDs should have been found nearly immediately.
If they were unsure about the information - which they were certainly AT LEAST UNSURE - they should not have presented their information as such an undisputible fact.
Truly is simple as that. If we find them now, it does not change the fact that the WH misrepresented CRUCIAL info to us."
RSU -
I think BB did address your question. Prior to our invasion of Iraq…check that, Prior to Bush taking office, there were a slew of democrats extolling the evils of Iraq and their build up of WMD’s. Among these were Gin-nosed Ted, and the other Senator from Mass. - Kerry.
Almost to a man, Congress believed that Iraq was in possession of banned weapons. Hell, Clinton even chimed in on the subject.
The fact is, everyone beleived the intelligence reports - not just the whitehouse.
But now, instead of these same people standing behind the President in the search for these weapons, they blame him for lying.
I won’t buy into your argument that the whitehouse misled us. Every lawmaker in Washington was on that wagon and I find it a bit self-righteous of them to act as if it’s all G-dub’s doing.
If and when we find out where the WMD’s are, or at least what happened to them, I’ll bet you a bottle of Grey Goose that the whole anti-war gang stands up and proclaims that they knew Iraq was guilty all along.
“The strength of the White House’s conviction when they declared Iraq an immediate threat because of their possession of WMDs was such that the WMDs should have been found nearly immediately.”
Why should they have been found immeadiately? We knew they were hidden from the U.N. inspectors. Were they supposed to just appear out in the open as soon as U.S. troops rolled across the border? We have nukes we hidden all over this country that could be launched really quickly.
i dont understand… other countries are known to have weapons much deadlier than this ONE shell in question…
in my opinion ONE shell with traces of sarin does not justify the decision to go to war and it certainly does not justify the price we’ve paid in $$ and blood since that decision was made.
funny i remember a few days into the war, fox news was broadcasting on location and their reporter claimed to have stumbled on a wmd stockpile… it turned out to be farm pesticides. the desire to justify the war with a huge wmd there… it was expected we would actually find them because of this administration’s rhetoric just before the war. but we never did find them.
There was misinformation regarding WMD’s. Thats obvious.
The unexpected bonus is that we are taking out the terrorists…bit by bit.
Remember, when the President declared war on terrorism, he did not limit it to Al Queida or the Talibannanas. Those are just but TWO groups of terrorists.
I know this concept of broad thinking is hard for liberals to deal with…but…
We are going to eradicate ALL the terrorists just the same.
And just like going in to destroy a hornet’s nest, you are going to probably get stung when you stir it up in the destruction procss.
BUT, you destroy the hornets AND their nest all the same.
No use crying over getting stung here and there, you expected that when you went in to exterminate them.
THIS IS WHAT WE ARE DOING!
Only those with a small nutsacks see it differently.
To the appeasers: to wait til we are hit again is NOT a logical way to deal with terrorists. We must attack and destroy them!
And NO MATTER what you say; we ARE DOING THIS!!!
So, get some rest, enjoy your cell phone and SUV and Michelob Ultra Low Carb and rest assured we are taking care of bizz!
