Sardines! How do you have them?

Do you eat them? How do you eat them and what with? I have had two tins of sardines in spicy olive oil and 3/4’s of a cup of bulgur wheat right out of the rice cooker and it was so GOOD! I think that meal alone had about 57 grams of protein and even though those tins are small - it packs a substansial amount of fish.

My mom used to make my siblings and I swim laps in the apartment pool and jump out at the end of each lap to catch a sardine with our mouth like an orca or something.

The bones sound extra crunchy underwater.

I eat the water packed one from Trader Joes out of the tin. I use chopsticks, to keep my hands from smelling fishy.

I don’t eat sardines, but this is one of the funniest things I’ve read on here in some time.

Thats an odd way to eat them. I tend to enjoy filling a bucket with them, tipping it out on the kitchen floor with my nose and roll in them while I throw the odd one up with my mouth and catch it again. Most of my relations eat them the same way.

I’ve told this story before, and I’m always suprised that its not a normal thing. Norwegian mother, but we had only moved to America then.

I drain most of the olive oil and then sprinkle them with grated parmesan cheese, top with Siracha and eat them straight out of the can
