Took it relatively easy this week, believe it or not, because I decided to enter a strongwoman meet… write up to follow.

This log should really be getting more love. Putting up some real weights there, and in style - sweet depth on those squats BTW, a rare sight. Didn’t realise that you had lost all that weight, a great effort on its own. And those quads … just ridic. Keep going - this has been good to follow!

Strong woman meet - Beast of the bluegrass

I had never trained for any of the events. I literally tried the axel bar the week before the meet, honestly winged everything else. There were 9 girls competing in the Novice open LW.

  1. Axel press for reps - 80lbs - 26 reps, tied for first place.
Starting Strongman | My swolemate talked me into doing a strongman meet

  1. Hussa stone carry- 200lb stone for distance. This thing was my least favorite. You see me almost drop it and I lower lean it up from my thigh towards the end. I am alllllll kinds of bruised up. Pretty sure I finished middle of the pack in this event.

  1. Axel Deadlift- 3 attempts- winner for max weight - opened with 295- which I believe would have put me in first place but I didn’t know what other girls second and third attempts would be. Second attempt was 320, and once I got my grip it was easy. A lot or the other girls used straps and suits. Not me. Didn’t even have to do a third attempt because the 320 was the highest by 25lbs.

320- https://www.facebook.com/sarah.cattan/videos/10205568386067797/

  1. tire flip for distance/fastest times- have never touched a tire weighing this much in my life. Literally flipped a tire for the first time the week before this, got it in 24.5ish seconds. 2nd place

  1. Atlas stone. Never have picked one up before the day of the competition. I know I did it all kinds of wrong pretty much bicep curled the damn thing over the bar. 14 reps for 3rd place.

For NEVER training for something like this I am super excited that I placed second and was very close to first  I met some great people this day and who knows I might do another one for fun sometime. My heart is in powerlifting though.

Right?!!?? TNATION owes me some love right now.

maybe because I’m stronger than most of the dudes on here and they’re scared I’ll call them out…

But I won’t. I’m a nice lady so feel free to throw in some love… Hahaha

But yes, first the goal was weight loss which honestly happened very quickly, then it was the pursuit of world records :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the support justrob !!

If you’re looking for another meet… We’re likely not terribly too far from you guys. Cash prizes.

also- totally awesome lifting!

Yay, you did a strongman meet!!! Great job! You killed it!

I agree with one of the above posts about your log not getting enough love. Your squatting ability is out of this world and the fact that you are a lady moving that kind of weight is even more admirable. I’ve lurked on your log for a while and figured I would drop a comment. Great job to you and all the ladies who are putting us men to shame!!
