I’ve had some friends prefer honesty, I’ve had others who’d rather avoid it.
You could simply present it as “I have some insight into what you’re going through; you probably won’t like what I have to say, and I might be wrong about a few things, but it will be blunt and honest. If you want to hear, let me know.”
It’s possible he might not be aware you have something to offer, since he’s young. I know when I was younger, I didn’t realize there were people around me who could have offered experienced advice. Realistically, I still probably would have made many of the same choices, but it would have been nice to know when I might be making a mistake before actually proving it to myself.
As others have said, it really depends on the relationship with the person asking for help. In the example above my brother in law never asked my advice. Had he I would have said something like I’m really happy for you and not told him he was making a HUGE fucking mistake. I’m not that close with him, but I do see him regularly, so if I had said DON’T DO IT it would have been awkward every time I saw him from there on out.
If it was my actual brother I would have probably said DON’T DO IT.
To pile on with Batman730’s advice:
Say something like, “Oh man…I had a co-worker that said the same exact thing…turns out his wife was cheating on him…he was kicking himself he didn’t hire a PI when he started noticing her XYZ”

In real life I don’t give friends advice on something like marriage or serious relationships. As a matter of respect for their ability to make decisions based on what they are experiencing, I just let them know that no matter how it shakes down I’ll be there for them as a friend and confidant.
After warning then watching one of my brothers marry a woman from Chile who cleaned him out and put everybody within reach through hell I retired from advice giving. People see what they want to see when they want to see it, and it isn’t my job to show them otherwise.

I have learned from an early age to mind my own damn business. I don’t give advice, I don’t even remotely put myself in a situation where I could get sucked into someone else’s drama.
It’s my feeling that people who do this are assholes, selfish, have their own motives and generally seek to destroy other people’s lives. I have seen meddling live and in person and the results were tragic to say the least.

Yeah, that was was a learning experience for sure. In most circumstance I wouldn’t have, but at the time I was my brothers caretaker. He had broken his neck about 6 years earlier and I was kind of sucked into the role. In that time we did a lot of good positive things together and had become each others sounding boards.
It seems like a common theme through life though. When the chips are down and he needs help it’s all about family and helping, yadda yadda yadda. But as soon as a woman lays some pussy on him you can go cath yourself with a flaming morning star.
I’m pretty sure now that when guys are questioning relationship stuff they are just thinking rhetorically out loud, not actually processing any outside inputs.

This.
Unless those outside inputs happen to support what they want to believe about the situation, then they are spot on.

So you don’t think that people who give advice are ever genuine? Even if they truly just want to save a friend/family member some heartache that they know they’re on the path toward?
How Do I tell my friends that their gilfriends and wife are cunts. I mean seriously I think I have the absolute worst luck when it comes to that.
I have 5 guys that I consider my closest friends and every single one…EVERY single damn one has a significant other that is a Thundercunt. I mean I know that a guy will usually have 1-2 friends that has a shitty girl, but EVERYONE?

The people you end up close to are often a reflection of yourself.

Sometimes when you’re in a whole room full of assholes, they aren’t the assholes.

You painted a picture with a pretty broad brush. Is there a specific attribute or attributes that they share? Are they all needy, mean, catty, etc.? What do you mean exactly?

Well All of them are extremely controling. Very catty, snippy, have the attitude their better than the world. They like Me, and I like them…but that doesn’t mean I can’t recognize a cunt when I see one.

I know what you mean but this is not the case. I’m not the only one who views them/feels this way. I guess I’m just the one whos most concerned…becasue as I said these are my best buds, and I want to maintain life long relationships with them.

What makes them thundercunts? Serious question. I haven’t seen or heard anyone use the word thundercunt in a long time I love it.

My friends are fine, their women are the problem. I have no problem with my friends to be honest. But there’s only one chick who (in my mind) I could actually see someone putting up with their shit inorder to date them. Everyone else kinda walks around like their shit don’t stink, but don’t realize it’s actually putrid

It’s really hard to give examples over the interwebz that would do the word justice. Think cunt, then think unchecked cunt.
Some examples:
One girl came to my buddies place one night to meet up with her boyfriend(my other buddy who was there) There were 3 single guys there with 3 girls who she did not know. As soon as she walked in she threw a HUGE bitchfit for no other reason than there were girls around her bf. Bitchfit included coming in and asking “who the fuck are these cunts”…actual words, throwing a wine bottle into the kitchen(which broke), and just completely immasculating my buddy.
Another girl basically lied to my friend and got pregnant…twice…yeah
Another girl is incredibly manipulative and just does really weird shit. She’s the “I have a headache so WE can’t go to your friends today”…“Oh and btw I’m feeling better so I’m gonna have some of my friends over”
Another chick bought a house with my buddy, but put it in her name because my friend has financial issues. Mind you they split everything 50/50, however ever since they bought the house he’s basically cut off from any social interaction with his friends. Unless she throws him out (which seems to be happening more frequently)
Small examples which I’m sure a lot of guys on here will just role their eyes and say no big deal, but remember this shit happens all the time.

You have some weak ass friends, is the problem. Also? If they didn’t like it they’d make changes.
He and I had another conversation today. It was the type of conversation where he wasn’t really asking anything but I spoke up anyway and suggested a course of action. The sad thing is I don’t think it matters much what he does. His situation looks so bleak I don’t see it ending well whatever he does.
