This may sound strange but I see more Sexy than Attractive. Even in her first move Hackers she had something that made you want to hang with this chick.

Everyone who hated this movie is a woman…including the people we previously thought were guys.

Conclusion: Joli makes you jealous because she does have a high level of sexuality exuded.

I think everyone else here with ballz liked it.

I think the rest of you need HRT.

hahahahaha X… she’s sexy but skinny as hell. i’d rather have my fat ass. jealousy, not an issue. the movie was watchable.

Yes…yes I would.

C’mon X, there were like, 3 female opinions in the thread lol

I love the movie, I loved watching her in the movie, I rewound some parts to watch her do certain things again…

I could be biased though, I think that everything Jolie touches turns to gold.

I just finished watching it and it was a good damn movie. I am usually let down by movies that have a good buzz around them and I heard good things about this movie from my friends. In my opinion it had excellent pacing, good acting, and very good action scenes. Also if I’m not mistaken there was a twist at the end.

SPOILERS

The new president has the same background story as Salt implying that he is also a mole…Twist! I’m glad they didn’t go the lollipop route and have her save her husband and save the President. I’m actually quite shocked that they killed the president a lot of movies don’t get that vicious. Also I would disagree with X about her having nothing but contempt for her husband when he was drowned. She had to keep a stone cold look on her face in order for them to totally believe that she was still on the right side. She tells the black Counter Intelligence agent that they took everything from me…I’ll kill them all.

END SPOILERS

Also Oleena your really reaching trying to compare this movie with kill bill. Beatrice didn’t give a damn about her fiance that got killed in the church, she was using that guy as a cover, to a normal life. When she went on her bloody revenge trip she never mentioned her dead husband only the baby that was taken away from her. Beatrice didn’t have any honorable intentions she just wanted revenge. Salt was more about sabotaging the soviets plans.[/quote]

Reaching? Really? How many other movies do you know of about a female assassin who’s husband is killed who then kills the guy who she’s supposed to be working for who did it? Change up the emotions or causes however you like; that’s what you’re left with and I haven’t seen it in any other movie.

I thought we were cool and then you had to go and do this!

FWIW I liked Salt and my comparison of it to Kill Bill was a huge compliment. Kill Bill is on my top 5 of all time list.

Salt was originally written for a male actor (Tom Cruise turned it down to film Knight and Day).

Hardly derivative of Kill Bill when KB was written specifically with Uma Thurman in mind.

For a truly badass female lead see Lisbeth Salander…

Proof, Nikkie = more ballz.

Really? She looks like an emo/goth who forgot to go vertical when it was time to slit her wrists.

Have you seen the movie?

you are wack. i am a woman. i liked it. never said i didn’t.
get a clue. won’t cost you nothing.

I just finally got around to watching it. I really enjoyed it, I wasn’t quite sure how things were going to go until pretty late in the movie. Plus I just like watching Angelina (I second Push promoting watching her strut in The Tourist.)

I really liked the plot twists.
Not that many movies keep you off balance/ have suprise endings that work.
This movie, Sixth Sense, and Repomen are the the only movies I can think of off the top of my head that did it successfully.

The Village by Shamalan was a huge failure of a suprise ending.

^^^^^^Spoilers^^^^^^^

I don’t think anyone can say they saw the betrayal by Angelina’s superior officer coming, there was essentially no foreshadowing for it. I had a second where I was like ??? then ahhhhhhh. lol.

I liked this movie and appreciated the fast paced nature. AJ did a convincing job, I agree she looks very THIN in this movie but if you watch one of the special features on the DVD it talks about how demanding the fitness level needed to be for this movie and that she did most of her own stunts (perhaps all?).

As for comparisons to other female leads I don’t believe there are many in Hollywood with her level of dramatic performance and action capability. Uma Thurman has shown that she is both (FWIW I did not get the impression I was watching Kill Bill when I watched SALT, I couldn’t draw an over-arching comparison like that even with the similarities, I am humbly sorry Oleena). Perhaps Natalie Portman? I’d definitely love to see a movie like that. As spy thrillers go, it’s a good movie, not great, but good. Having said that, the FIRST time I watch Long Kiss Goodnight, I really enjoyed the gutsy portrayal by Geena Davis, she was very good in that movie and I’d still watch that movie again today. For it’s time and date of release, The LKG is a great film.

As for plot twists, nothing has come close to The Usual Suspects but this is not what this thread is about

lol. I called it because I saw Kill Bill. It’s cool that other’s didn’t see the comparison, tho. To each his/her own. It was an enjoyable movie regardless.

Really? not even a little surprising? Granted it’s no Sixth Sense and MNS has gone pretty much downhill after Unbreakable but the Village had it’s moments. Totally loved Bryce Dallas Howard - actually after seeing her in Eclipse I seem to think she’d play a dramatic-action lead very well.

I guess I should elaborate. It wasn’t a failure to be a suprise. I’ll admit it threw me off. It just wasn’t a suprise that made me feel any strongly positive or negative (oh that’s awesome I didn’t see that coming) sort of suprise. It showed the ending and I was like…well that was dumb. The content of the suprise was lacking.
