Yes, this was a cultural trend/fad in the early 90’s. It came right alone the time that flat tops had died off to a large degree and shaving your head was becoming the norm. It was originally because of guys wearing clothes too big because many of the clothes designers in the late 80’s and early 90’s ignored black culture meaning most pants were tight…and needless to say, the no one was wearing tight pants back then or wanted to. That meant wearing tight jeans 3 sizes bigger so they were baggy.

Baggy jeans didn’t even become a “regular” style until the late 90’s. Add socioeconomic factors like wearing your big brother’s clothes and THAT is where this started in the general public.

You live in a more well off side of town and from the sounds of things don’t really know of much else. Why comment here when people in your own city see more than you?

I think I seen enough from Bellaire to Aldine to everything in between to know that I dont want to hang around places (including my neighborhood) that associate itself with the type of people that are involved or are even remotely interested in “that culture” I maybe “isolated” in the areas I mention,but that’s by choice.

Good for you. My tactic is to give back to the community that I was raised in so sagging pants do not scare me. I also tend to avoid pretending like Houston is filled with people carrying sawed off shot guns n public at bus stops.

Back in the day I used to sag my pants but we were wearing it baggy back in the 90’s, (Cross Colors, Fubu, Karl Kani etc) not leotard tight like the kids now. Also we never took it to this extent some of the shit just looks plain retarded their just showcasing their boxers in most cases. I have to remind myself that some of the dumb shit I used to do as a kid looked plain retarded too.
