A majority of T-Nation regulars have concluded that SteveO’s threads about God and the Bible are disruptive because it points out our sin and our need for Biblical salvation. Since we are unable to refute the Bible or God’s Word, and because Steveo is a great debater and has an amazing intellect, we are resolved that a boycott of those threads has been proposed and adopted, and we’d appreciate it if you would refrain from replying to him. All right, just one question, SteveO. Do you love Vroom?
No, seriously, do you love Vroom and Harris and FightinIrish and everyone else who disdains and mocks you for being so outspoken in your beliefs?
Is it an all-consuming love that you have for these people, and a genuine, desperate concern for the destination of their souls in the hereafter that you persist in trying to save them and the rest of T-Nation from eternal damnation?
Or do you believe that the more souls are saved as a result of your ministies, the more glory will acrue to you in the afterlife? This, please understand, is not a sarcastic question.
I think by now most of us have heard the message, and I, for one, simply want to know what motivates the messenger to be so tenacious in trying to convert such a tough crowd.
As a courtesy to the Politics forum, and to Professor X’s thread in particular, I would invite you to clarify your position on the Get a Life forum. I think you will agree that that is the more appropriate forum for this subject, inasmuch as it is the question of getting an eternal life that is under debate.
Cheers.

Yes, I love all of these guys as I do all people. I certainly have made mistakes in the way I might speak and I am very sorry for that. However, I don’t believe I will get any more rewards later.
I am motivated by a belief that without Christ it is like we are in a kayak headed down the river of life with a 50,000 foot cliff at the end. I am just warning others as anyone who would be in that position to do so that you have to stop the boat and put it in the river that heads to paradise and not to the falls. It is really that simple.[quote]

Sorry, but I will only agree to do this when everyone else abides by this rule. Since there are threads on this forum dealing with “Allah v. Jesus” and other threads that clearly fall outside “politics,” I will not leave when everyone else is doing the same thing with their issues.
The problem is that nobody tells muslims to go to another forum, or anyone else who posts something ‘off topic.’ At any rate, I would say that the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ does belong here since, if you read the Bible about it, it is definately going to be a “World Issue,” which DOES belong on this forum. Take care![quote]

The problem is that you don’t know what you are talking about. A fortress? If you call the streets of New York City where I am every day speaking with people about the Lord a fortress, then you don’t know what the word means. Like some of the other guys, I guess it makes you feel better about rejecting God’s message if you portray the messenger as some wacko nutjob. I have two very responsible jobs in which I have leadership roles and maintain normal friendships and relationships, and yes, I even go to the gym 4 days per week for 2 hours at a time.
So, try again – because, my friend, you’ve got it all wrong again!

Actually, when we do try and debate you, as I did in the “Jesus or Burn” thread, you eventually stop replying. I don’t know if it’s because you ran out of arguments (did I hit on something not covered in your little tracts?) or you got bored or some other reason. You even sent me a PM to say you’d answer later; but in the meantime you’ve gone back to your usual “Repent ye sinners!” nonsense.
That why I changed my stance vis-à-vis your threads. Debate doesn’t interest you, even if it is done using the Bible as a source. You don’t care about Jesus or his message; you simply use the Bible to justify condemning people according to your primitive morals.

Of course I know what I am talking about:
How do we know that the Bible is the word of God? Because God says so in the Bible.
Even IF we accept this premise and succed in showing you your errors (polygamy) you`d simply ignore it.
What?s there to debate?
[quote]orion wrote:

Precisely.
Debate has been tried. Steveo doesn’t bother to even consider any viewpoint other than his own…
However, I think we are getting off topic dealing with issues concerning Steveo in this thread.
This thread is about why the politics forum now sucks donkey balls and what can be done to combat that.
If i can make a suggestion, as someone who very rarely comes to this board:
You guys fighting with steveo are making a basic mistake. Never, ever underestimate the power of ideology. You won’t win; trust me. Ideology is probably the most powerful force in the world, and your being right isn’t going to damage his belief one bit.

Glanton,
While I can’t speak for others, I don’t think it is about getting Steveo to change his viewpoint, just to stop him from beating everyone over the head with it on a regular basis.
He’s told us his viewpoint, we all get it, we don’t need further prosyletizing.

Sorry I overlooked that reply to you. You know, if you were concerned about that, you could have PM’d me to remind me and by doing that giving me the benefit of the doubt as I would have given to you.
If you wish to remind me by PM’ing me what I said I would respond to later, I will certainly do this with no problem. It was a simple oversight as most of my posts over the last couple of weeks have been in the wee hours of the morning, and so I just overlooked that.
I can assure you, Pookie, that any omission or non-reply to you that was not an oversight is simply because I felt that I had given enough Biblical reasons and verses to back up my postion and – very unlike a troll – I saw no point in continuing the point.
Again, if you have something that you really wish to debate, I have no problem with that. Either post it here on PM me about it.
Take care…

What errors? I answered those very succinctly with Bible verses and commentary to show where I was not incorrect on that point. The summation of my Biblical argument about polygamy was that just because people do a certain behavior and God records this in His Word, doesn’t mean that God approves it. Otherwise, we would conclude that God is OK with murder, rape, incest, baby killing, etc.
Asked and answered. Next?

Actually, never underestimate God’s Truth.
God + 0 = a majority!

No, because God did not just record Davids behaviour he GAVE those women to him. He states that He HAD GIVEN MORE IF DAVID HAD ASKED HIM TO.
Your God is also so quick with His disapproving that it is kind of hard to believe he left something out that really mattered to Him.
Do I have to mention the details He goes into in Leviticus and Deuteronomy and yet polygamy is not mentioned ONCE as a sin?
You have an angry, jealous (His words, not mine) AND outspoken God, which is why you do not get to make shit up.
The reason why I insist on this point is for a Steveo charakter study:
Are you even able to admit that you were probably wrong if one argues with your own Holy Book, or is your mind so made up that you are only trying to justify your hatred for all kinds of behaviours , making your Bible your bitch if you have to along the way.
And, for a quick encore:
" How can you say, “We are wise,
for we have the law of the LORD,”
when actually the lying pen of the scribes
has handled it falsely?"
Jeremiah 8:8
When I was young, I used to pray for a bicycle. I’d pray and pray, and never get that bicycle.
Then one day, it dawned on me: It was completely wrong to pray for a bicycle!
So I stole a bicycle, and prayed for forgiveness.
Once you understand how this God works, things really fall into place.

Oh, I’m sympathetic to this. But it seems to me that his viewpoint includes spreading it to everyone within earshot; therefore, getting him to change it and be quiet about it can boil down to the same thing.
But if you’re able to accomplish your aims vis a vis his advocating the oppression and silencing of others, more power to you.

If I was wrong, Biblically, I would admit it. Unfortunately despite the smugness dripping with your every word, your analysis is simply wrong. The fact that God allows us or gives to us our fleshly desire again doesn’t mean that He approves it. In Romans chapter 1, God tells us that there are people who keep rejecting Him and so He “gives them up to vile affections, etc…” He doesn’t approve these things, but He allows them for the purpose of having that individual repent before it is too late by getting sick of their sin.
Also, if you would be correct on this point, Jesus Christ would then be wrong. That, sir, is as impossible as it is ridiculous!
