I have a snubnose SP101 by Ruger. It has a similar carry profile but is double the weight. I realize this is an old post but if you’re still looking, the clunky Ruger cousin is beneficial here imo.
Definitely wouldn’t recommend a lot of range time. I personally shoot a few rounds at 7 yards now and then to stay fresh but wouldn’t anticipate using this gun outside of a very up close and personal encounter, where 1 .357 center mass round will likely end things immediately.
