This was taken from my balcony tonight.
Last night the whole group went out for one of the interns “leaving party.” It was fun… Went to the bar, hung out and drank. I actually played some more dice/board games with a few of the girls who work there, and at one point I was offered the bet…
“You win, you take her home free. She win, you take her home pay bar fine.” Hahahah, no thanks.
It was fun, until I had to get home. All the taxi drivers insisted I pay 200 baht for a ride that normally cost 10. So, I ended up walking home. Lame.
I’m actually pretty happy to see this kid leave haha. He was just obnoxious, thought he was the shit, and was sort of condescending in the way he spoke to some of the newer interns, me included.
I havent been diving for a couple of days, but I’ll probably be on the boat tommorow. Sweet.
Today, a couple of the interns did their 100th dive. None of them did it naked, but instead brought a cooler full of wine glasses, filled with wine, and covered in saran wrap. The idea was to bring them to depth, poke a hole in them with a straw, and have a glass of wine… but failed miserably when they opened the cooler, water rushed in, and ripped all of the celophane off haha.
Keep the updates coming. It’s a funny coincidence since I’m thinking of traveling in Thailand for part of this summer and also happen to be 19… This thread is convincing me to actually do it.
Ryan, this thread is fascinating. I know nothing about scuba diving and I doubt I will ever make it to Thailand. I respect the fact that you said “screw it” & did exactly what you wanted. Best of luck to you.

Hey man, if you get the opportunity, do it. Being as it is I’m still relatively new here, PM me in a few weeks and I’ll probably be able to give you some other ideas for traveling. A lot of other interns here have taken a week or two off from work to travel to other parts of Thailand, and a few went to Cambodia, Laos, Singapore, etc…
If I were you, I’d travel to as many places as you can.

The other day I was told the IDC interns didnt need my help in the pool, so I figured I’d just sign up for the boat the next morning. I woke up at 7 15 and was then told there werent enough tanks on the boat for everyone, so I couldnt go diving.
When the interns started arriving back at the appartments, I asked one of the interns, Ashleigh, how the diving was.
