Ryan Casey, The Truth?

I stopped suspecting he was on steroids after i posted this thread because he isnt really that big Imo + what others said.

I mainly bumped it for conversation about the 385 bench. It is suspect though.

I dont think it does either. i just bumped thread for discussion . What bothers me though is i really hope he is natty. He claims to be as well as every other gymshark athlete like david laid, dylan mckenna etc.

Theres so many fake natties on youtube or social media misleading people that they can achieve those results naturally.

Maybe @flipcollar’s metabolism will slow down when hes like 60yrs old+. Lol.

my metabolism is an interesting thing. I’m 34, definitely past the age when most of the people around me have lost their childhood metabolisms. Mine’s better than it was 10 years ago. I have a younger brother who used to be skinny like me, and now he has a beer gut. My dad’s relatively thin, but doesn’t have my bodytype. No one in my family has ever really looked like me. So I don’t have family genetics to compare myself to.

I honestly don’t think I’m going to lose my metabolism, ever.

Would you rather have a normal metabolism or the metabolism you have now?
On one end of the scale you have the awesome ability to stay lean whilst eating whatever, and the other end is having to stuff your face to gain weight.

No question I’d keep my metabolism. I know how lucky I am. Very few people ever get to look like me at any point in their lives. And I get to look like this 365 days out of the year. The benefits absolutely outweigh the downside IMO.

Yeah you are for sure damn lucky man!

I have no idea what kind of metabolism i have n Im assuming high, im hungry constantly even after eating a massive meal i get hungry in 30 mins.

Its mixed up for two reasons 1. Im skinny fat 2. I struggle gaining weight and strength unless i eat a shit tonne of food, yet im not even some skinny ribs poking out kid? So im not genetically predisposed to being lean, im genetically a skinny dude with chub? Its like the really short end of the stick haha.

I hate you so much…

Do you think your supplements have helped hold off a slower metabolism as you hit your 30s?

Is it possible that you timed it perfectly and added supps right when you would’ve started seeing a belly (with your glorious diet)?

I’m just genuinely curious. I’m pretty sure I broke the 12% body fat barrier in 4th or 5th grade lol

It’s possible, but highly unlikely. Supplements have not gotten any of my lifting friends to look like me. Most of the steroid users I know carry fat, particularly the strongmen competitors. I don’t know ANYONE who walks around as lean as I do, particularly at my age. The few who come close are also keeping their diets extraordinarily tight, constant meal prep, etc. I have a hard time believing that I just hit it exactly right, that I was about to fall of the metabolic cliff, and I fortuitously avoided it at the last minute.

I’ll never be able to judge this, though, because I didn’t actually ever even START to put on fat. I think that argument would hold up if at 30, I started putting on a belly, jumped on steroids, and then it went away. Then you could attribute it to steroids. That’s just not what happened.

Lucky bastard! My brother teased me about being chubby when I was like 12; maybe that’s why I’m so fond of my abs nowadays. The joke’s on him though. We’re the same height and I outweigh him by 60 lbs now!

And you thought I was skinny lol

Haha, this kid goes to my gym. If you look at his channel, his bench was around 275lbs 9 months ago.

I chalk a lot of this part of the discussion up to good habits. Most people I’ve known that did no training/bad habits squeaked through to about mid-20’s, then started getting soft. By 30’s they were doughy, mid 30’s fat, and at mid 40’s are getting tested for liver and heart stuff.

I hung in there pretty well till about 40, now getting soft to doughy without much intervention and a recurring back injury. The guy I lift with kinda reminds me of you. Turned 50 this year, long term lifting and other activity(mountain biking, etc), so-so eating habits and can still squeeze out an ab vein or two when he feels like it.

Dead thread, but not natty via very reliable sources.

Does it matter? Yes. It is a complete sham. But if their marketing fooled you, then you probably deserve it. I respect full on bodybuilders way more. At least they have no qualms with who they are and what they are about.
