RWU Calls for Exploration of a 3rd Party

A press release which you can find here https://www.railroadworkersunited.org/

Are these people crazy? They are calling for public ownership of the railroads. Tinges of Marxism there. They should all be put in prison. They are traitors to this awesome country.

About damn time. Glad they can join the prevailing momentum.

Are the rail workers just realizing that dems turned their backs on the unions in favor of the zhe zhim zhey crowd?

By publicly owned, do they mean like other companies, where shares can be bought and sold, or do they mean government owned?

Yeah sad I know, which is why I said about damn time.

I’m not quite sure. One would not think government owned. As they were screwed by the government. But I don’t think they mean like “other companies” buying shares and whatnot. That does not fundamentally change the structure. Cannot people buy shares of the carrier one rail companies and be “pubically owned” now? I’d think they mean more like a worker co-op. Democratically run for the benefit of the public, not primarily for profits at any cost. Fuck the consequences!

I’d rather not.

But it does.

It gives every shareholder a vote in the direction of the company per share owned.

That includes me, you, employees, who ever owns a stake in it.

I worked at Newport News Shipyard after an employee buyout.

You know why?

Because every single mf’r there thought he was the boss and didn’t have to lift a finger. Complete Shit show!

So they had to hire outside contractors to keep the place standing.

I think it eventually made for a sweet deal for General Dynamics or somebody, because that place wasn’t worth a shit once the employees got done owning it.

Just the the workers. Execs still get all the cushy jobs and kickbacks they can get.

Dems grant tax money to union, union donates to Dem campaign, Dems win election, Dems grant tax money to union, union donates to Dem campaign…

Collectivism failed them, maybe they’ll try individualism instead.

The biggest problem with the LP is its catering to the freaks/SJWs.

Maybe, but the Mises Caucus seems to be running the show now and from what I’ve heard from their members, they don’t really kowtow to the wokesters - so we’ll see

Yeah because that usually works out great and without losing shittons of money.

That’s great, but I’m not sure the “thick” libertarians that make up much of the rest of the Party don’t hate “thin” libertarians more than they hate the State. In other words, I think there’s a good chance the Libertarian Party loses the support of a good number of its current supporters if actual libertarians run the show.

So the Libertarian party sheds Progressives who (claim to) “Hate the State” … I doubt it’ll matter much Libertarian Party would do much better at the local/state level than nationally and I think that’s their strategy from what I’ve heard (Michael Malice interviewed the current Chairwoman who is in Mises Caucus).

As I’m sure you know, Even the most “ethical” businesses are only telling people that so that they can make a profit.

Businesses only exist to make a profit no matter what they put out into the world.

Or else they will cease to exist.

Precisely why we need government to seize control of the means of production, so they can decide which businesses are beneficial to society and keep them afloat ad nauseum with printed money, all the while loading them up with more bureaucrats than the total population of Rhode Island or Delaware
